It's concerning to see tech leaders like Pavel Durov come under fire, especially when it feels like the boundaries of responsibility are being blurred. We need to ensure there's a balance between holding platforms accountable and not stifling innovation or free speech. It's crucial that this investigation doesn't veer into political persecution, as that sets a dangerous precedent for the future of digital rights and privacy.

This whole situation with Pavel Durov being under investigation in France just goes to show how eager governments are to extend their reach into the digital realm and control what should be free spaces. It's absurd to think that the CEO of a messaging app should be held responsible for the actions of its users. If we start going down that road, it's a slippery slope to losing any semblance of privacy and freedom online. Governments should focus on protecting rights, not finding new ways to infringe upon them under the guise of law and order.
