Five U.S. service members and two contractors were injured Monday in a rocket attack at an Iraqi air base, defense officials said, an incident that risks further escalation in a region on the brink of wider conflict.
The Pentagon said Tuesday that militants supported by Iran were responsible for the attack at Al Asad air base. U.S. forces in Iraq and neighboring Syria have repeatedly tangled with such groups as Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza has inspired spillover violence.
Militants launched two rockets at Al Asad, located in western Iraq, officials said. Iraqi troops, who share the base with the Americans, reported hearing ambulance sirens and alarms.
Two U.S. personnel had to be evacuated for further medical care, but all seven who were injured are in stable condition, said a U.S. defense official, who like some others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the incident.

Why are we still in Iraq doing Israels dirty work? Biden is an Idiot and totally in the pocket of the Israel lobby along with most of our other politicians.
Netanyahu did this. He has in the last 10 months attacked Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. He has repeatedly attacked UN staff and NGO staff deliberately, he has made relentless attacks on journalists in the region, particularly Al Jazeera journalists. Which is rarely reported by legacy media.
He wants the US on the ground fighting alongside him in his genocide, and he will get it.
'Cause, you know, no one attacked Israel. Netanyahu just woke up one morning and started attacking other countries. /s

No matter what's happening around the world, if an American is under attack the US should have a firm stance against that and ensure no one thinks they can harm Americans overseas.
Once again, why does the United States watch Israel pick a fight with another country, then step in to save its (heh) bacon? Do we no longer believe in personal responsibility? Do we wonder why Israel keeps doing these hostile and war-inciting things?
