Apparently Littoral Combat ships and the Zumwalt destroyers were lemons. A lot of time and money went down a rat hole. Seems like the Navy may have a leadership and accountability problem. I don't remember anyone being strung up on the yardarms because of procurement or design errors.

The Zumwalt destroyer wasn't a lemon, it was just so darn expensive that any sort of production in numbers was out of the question.
The LCS were indeed lemons. Even if they had actually operated without their many flaws, the intended mission they were designed for was a very short-sighted mistake, which became apparent shortly after Xi came to power.
