VP Harris cannot go wrong with any of the choices she has in front of her for her VP. All the top contenders are rising stars in their own right.

For this life-long Democrat, for the first time in a long, long time, I have hope for my country. Kamala Harris is going to win in November, and resoundingly so. She is already beginning to rise in the polls, and it's been just one week.

With 100 days to go, it will become clearer and clearer to the nation that she is going to defeat Donald Trump and all that he stands for.

When that does happen, I will rejoice in the knowledge that I can once again turn on the TV and not have to look at his face or hear the vile commentary coming out of his mouth ever again.

I like Mr Shapiro but having that boost in Pennsylvania might be countered by weakness in Michigan. Many in the Palestinian and Arab communities there blame (wrongly) American Jews for the actions of Netanyahu. It’s an emotional reaction. Biden got a no confidence vote in the Detroit area in the primary.

Mr Beshear is also a good choice but we’re never going to flip Kentucky.

I think the best bet is Mark Kelly. We need Arizona, he’s very popular there. He’s for reasonable gun restrictions but not that impact hunters. He’s got a lot of cache on the border, works across the aisle. Is to the right of Harris on the border. Military background.

I would like Harris and her choice for VP to focus on the economy in a way that benefits the vast majority of Americans. That's the real world for most. Cultural issues can be second or third priorities but good jobs and improved standards of living are the most important consideration for a significant percentage of our voters.

Shapiro, the Governor or my state Pennsylvania, is very well respected here. He gets things done. He works across the aisle when it's appropriate to do so. He is very effective in his role as the state leader. He was terrific as Attorney General. And he brings with him the strong possibility of a key swing state.

I like Josh Shapiro... And also want to nod to an even deeper bench for the next decades: Hakeem Jeffries, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, Cory Booker, Stacy Abrams, and many, many more. The future is bright for democracy and our "better angels." Here we go, Kamala Harris for the people! Yes. We. Can.
