Far-right leader Marine Le Pen said her Rassemblement National party would seek to form a new French government even if it falls short of an outright majority, in a shift in position ahead of Sunday’s run-off vote.
Le Pen said that if the RN narrowly failed to secure a majority on its own, it would look for allies for parliamentary backing.
In last weekend’s first round, the RN inflicted a resounding defeat on President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist forces and is projected to come in first again on Sunday.
“We want to govern, to be extremely clear.
And if we are a few deputies short of the majority,” Le Pen said on France Inter Radio on Tuesday.
“We will go see others and say: ‘Are you ready to participate with us in a new majority with a new policy?’”
But, in an indication of the RN’s resolve to pursue its agenda, she said the party “could not accept going into government if we cannot act”.
Jordan Bardella, the party’s chief and candidate for prime minister, had previously said he would not govern without an absolute majority of the parliament’s 577 seats.

Should be very interesting.
The EU can't simply push Le Pen around like they did to Poland as the EU is reliant on French money as the 2nd largest payer now the UK has left. She could easily stop payments.
If she can work with other right wing parties, they can cut the EU down in size, remove its powers, reduce its funding and then turn it into a simple trade bloc, which is should always have been.
The UK should be working with them to achieve this for our own economic reasons, and our national security. We would even be part of a simple trade bloc.
Lets hurry up and get there quickly.

Yes; and even the rump of the right got 10%.
In government they will try to implement “despicable” policies like prioritising the French over immigrants in welfare and housing. The RN will quickly find that it is impossible to enact sensible laws under the EU. The inevitable next stage is anger, clashes in the street, and eventual call for Frexit, by which point the ruling elite will unleash on Le Pen x1000 times what they had thrown to Trump.
