The covid cultists who now retrospectively parrot the talking point that they “didn’t know at the time” were awfully certain back then that anyone who questioned their unequivocal pronouncements needed to be shamed, shunned, silenced, segregated, or ruined.

Honestly this is exactly it. There is so much furor about it now because of their smugness at the time. They were 100% convinced that their way was the only way and any challenge to that was "misinformation" to the level of nearly imprisonment. That's why the backlash is strong
