It's pretty rich for the U.S. to criticize Vietnam for maintaining its long-standing relationship with Russia, especially considering the complicated and sometimes morally ambiguous alliances the U.S. has maintained over the years. This visit underscores the importance of not viewing international relations through a purely Western lens, and acknowledging that countries like Vietnam have their own strategic interests to consider.
