An Oklahoma-based missionary group working in Haiti’s capital was attacked by gangs on Thursday night, leaving two Americans and the group’s director dead, the organization, Missions in Haiti, announced on Facebook.
Missions in Haiti runs a school for 450 children, as well as two churches and a children’s home in the Bon Repos neighborhood in the northern outskirts of Port-au-Prince, which is widely known to be controlled by two local gangs.
The independent nonprofit was founded by an Oklahoma couple, David and Alicia Lloyd, in 2000.
The attack occurred Thursday, after two different groups of gangs descended on the organization’s compound, attacked employees and stole the organization’s vehicles.
The victims were the founders’ son, David Lloyd III, 23, known as Davy; his wife, Natalie Lloyd, 21; and the organization’s Haitian director, Jude Montis, 45, the group said. Ms. Lloyd is the daughter of a state representative in Missouri, Ben Baker.

That is very unfortunate and all
but why did you go to Haiti
They were missionaries. Missionaries don't go to just nice safe cozy places. They go where they are needed

Like St Louis? a city in their own state?
The city of St. Louis has a poverty rate of 22.8%.
They're missionaries bringing aid to people in crisis. It's a tough job, but a necessary one.
They should have security contractors with them at this point. The State Dept. should be on top of this, Blinken should be all over his people. It shouldn't take a tragedy to see action

This is incredibly sad. I'm so sorry for his loss. Praying for his family.
I would also like to remind people that Florida has been invaded by Haitians. Just stay aware, friends.
@P0pulistNarwhalDemocrat2yrs2Y
The ones here are pretty chill and they immigrated here for the last 30-40 years. Dunno what you’re on about.
@RobustBasmatiRepublican2yrs2Y
I'm talking about the ones that came in this past year through boats. Maybe you should research it
I really understand why they were there...but I really don't understand why they STAYED there. Sometimes we have to put ourselves first, this was one of those times they should have and just come home. Haiti is lost.
@L3ftLeaningFrankPatriot2yrs2Y
Let’s import millions of them to middle America to teach Whitey a lesson, right?!
