Fuel efficiency standards set the required average fuel economy for vehicles, aiming to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Proponents argue that it helps reduce emissions, save consumers money on fuel, and decrease reliance on fossil fuels. Opponents argue that it raises production costs, leading to higher vehicle prices, and may not have a significant impact on overall emissions.

It is an inconvenience for regular citizens, but can prevent criminals- (actual murders) - from travelling too far.
@B2V6HCH3mos3MO
They should regulate fuel efficiency but look at other modes of transportation like ocean going vessels that use more in one day than any other mode of transportation
@9ZZVBJ45mos5MO
During incidents like a hurricane/ evacuation on how much someone gets per car, so its a more fair share care for everyone (less for the greedy).
No and Yes, fuel is good for vehicles and takes less time to fill up, but electricity is better for the environment and saves money(I think).
@9XZ9F396mos6MO
ICE and electric both have pros and cons you cant magically solve this issue with stricter laws, electric vehicles are powered by coal plants, and lithium largely comes from slave labor in third world countries, neither power source is better or worse than the other
@9XVXYVQ6mos6MO
The government does not give adequate enough resources to meet higher fuel efficiency standards but once they have contributed and helped to prepare for these advancements in fuel efficiency then it would be good.
@9X39MQ87mos7MO
No, however there should be more of an incentive to encourage those who are currently using more wasteful vehicles to switch to more enviormentally friendly alternitives.
@9WPV3W27mos7MO
Yes, but impose them per-vehicle rather than by fleet, ending the era of highly efficient sedans and hatchbacks in return for enormous, inefficient SUVs and trucks.

The free market, we will determine that the value of fuel efficient cars, but um of the the companies that make cars have to be competitors, and they have to have competitive technology and pricing, if we allow them to be publicly traded and to be corporations, they will be owned by all the same people, and it will no longer be a competitive free market. We must destroy monopolies to have free market.Do you determine what the people want
@9W6TDPM7mos7MO
No, but they should incentivize end consumers to choose cleaner vehicles over traditional ICE vehicles.
@9W4PT9YPeace and Freedom7mos7MO
yes; but there should be credits offered to low income individuals who can't afford to keep their cars efficient
@9VTMVSX7mos7MO
There are some mandates, like more frequent emissions testing and a regulation on diesel cars, that should be in place.
@9TT8R8C8mos8MO
I believe that we should develop and make more main stream, the use of more earth friendly cars and other vehicles
@9TJ873H8mos8MO
I believe we should find a middle ground. I support the want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but I also want my future vehicle to be fairly priced at a good standard. so...I don't really know at the moment.
@9SHZXLQ9mos9MO
Yes and I would like to see alternative technologies of powering a vehicle get funding for research as well to find an alternative to electric and gas powered vehicles.
@9R4FYRZ10mos10MO
Is the government also going to provide funding for the increase in prices or raise wages for when costs increase in order to maintain these fuel efficient standards. I support bettering Mother Earth, but we also have to think of the capacity of the people who inhabit the planet as well.
@9ST9VX4 9mos9MO
I think the government needs to completely re-think its guidelines in determining the ammount of pollution a vehicle makes.
@9SMXNVH9mos9MO
Yes, more hybrids. There should be better fuel mileage and economy however pure electric is much less efficient as this offsets the cost of gas into pure electricity which strains the already strained US power grid. Hybrids are the best of both worlds and most efficient with current technology.
