What is the real crime that should be prosecuted here?

Sexual abuse of a child which most states have removed any statutes of limitations from.

If if find something that isn't yours, you at least should try to return it to the true owner. You don't try to blackmail the owner then advertise that it is for sale then lie to the police about your actions. Then when you refuse to cooperate with the court, contempt is due.
