What Ukraine really needs is the A-10 a 50-year-old plane that is designed for close support of ground troops

If they had this plane which is easy to learn they would be able to push Russians troops out.

The A-10 would be quickly shot down without air supremacy. Ukraine does not have anything close to air supremacy and most likely will not even gain air parity with the addition of the F-16. The A-10 works for US forces because of the overwhelming air strength the US relies on.

I don't know how it would do vs. Russian air defense, but I agree, if it's a ground war, train them and send some over, see what happens. It's worth it just for our strategic education. Maybe after the F-16's are established
