An active-duty U.S. Air Force member who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C., on Sunday has died, officials said.
The man repeatedly said “Free Palestine” and appeared to livestream the protest Sunday afternoon on the platform Twitch, which has since removed the video. The Metropolitan Police Department identified him as Aaron Bushnell, a 25-year-old from San Antonio.
Bushnell died in a hospital on Sunday night, the police and the Air Force said.
Bushnell appeared to say during the episode that he didn’t want to be complicit in genocide and wanted to engage in an extreme act of protest. He was likely referring to the Israel-Hamas War and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza

I believe it is a horrible thing that happened to the U.S. Air Force Member, and I think this person didn't get enough recognition for his noble action to save others.
In case it wasn't already obvious, the "Palestinian cause" is the facade of a western death cult that worships nihilism, violence, and depravity. Cornel West celebrated Hamas burning children alive. Of course he celebrates a mental patient burning himself alive.

We have come to the point where progressives are pro committing suicide in brutal and horrifying manner…
This video was horrible. There are many ways to advocate and fight for causes you believe in. Suicide was not the answer and you should have the courage to say that. What is going on
@PassionateCaribouGreen2yrs2Y
You are willfully missing the point. Aaron Bushnell sacrificed himself as a message, a message that is now heard all over the world.
#FreePalestine

Kids killing themselves is bad.
This is not a sacrifice that should have been made. Suicide should not be encouraged and that is what is happening.
It’s insane to me that so many people are trying to paint this as heroic martyrdom. It was pointless death and pain of a 25 year old kid. It’s just heartbreaking.
It should be an action that is not encouraged. How is that controversial? How is that not a consensus?
If another kid kills himself in the name of a cause they believe in is that good? How many until it’s bad? Does it depend on the cause? I genuinely dont get it.
@PassionateCaribouGreen2yrs2Y
The beauty of his sacrifice is that it was his choice, not yours. It was tremendously courageous. I'm sure Zionists will attempt to smear him, but they are powerless in this case. Another reason why his act is so effective.
Who sees “beauty” in the painful suicide of a 25 yo?
So many more constructive ways to make a difference
This is the problem -You value suicide more than life.
He was never in Gaza. How can you believe in a cause that you joined on Twitter?
Shame on you for advocating this
@RadiantAnteaterPatriot2yrs2Y
It’s not beautiful and it’s not courageous. Its insane. He will not be remembered except for his family who will be devastated. There are better ways he could have used his life to do good. He wasted it to achieve nothing.
@L1ber4lRatPatriot2yrs2Y
Wrong again...you can't twist or Prevert this into any "good" nor "honorable" thing ..no, this never will be.
@PartisanPolarGnu2yrs2Y
I remember someone self-immolated to raise awareness about climate collapse.
I want to say another person did this to protest the ICE camps, but he may have done something else. Regardless he died to send a message that fell on deaf ear.
@JudicialLard2yrs2Y
The Biden Administration and others continue to not read the tea leaves on how disastrous it is to preserve U.S.-Israel relations.
@PanickyPony2yrs2Y
It has happened before in the US, as movingly recounted by former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara in the indelible film Fog of War. Watch him peel his own skin away trying to justify himself to himself. Let’s hope this time the dreadful act has its intended effect.
@9KB6W6ZRepublican2yrs2Y
I believe that miltary deaths are really important
@9KB65RN2yrs2Y
It was probably the horrors of war if it was purposefully.
@9K9CT732yrs2Y
I think its interesting and should be heard because if one of our soldiers, who is supposed to be one of the mentally strongest people is commiting suicide overseas there is a problem within the branch that needs to be shown.
@L3ftWingClaraGreen2yrs2Y
I can only imagine what was going through his mind. Those seconds, the lighter wasn't working. That felt like forever.
I believe there have been climate change protesters who self-immolated and during the Iraq War. Each time largely ignored by the media.
Of course, there are more famous examples from the Vietnam War.
