True religious liberty does NOT mean that government doesn't promote Christianity – it means that there isn't an Established Government Church, like the Church of England, that all citizens and officeholders are forced to attend, it means that religious dissenters will not be molested in their acts of worship that are consistent with public safety, it means that Congress shall make no law saying you can't practice a certain religion – but that's all. That's what the founders meant.
