Army says captive may have been killed when forces struck another building, which caused an adjacent building in which Sharabi was held to collapse.
The IDF has presented its investigation into the death of hostage Yossi Sharabi in the Gaza Strip to his family. According to the IDF’s probe, Sharabi was likely inadvertently killed as a result of an IDF strike.
Sharabi is believed to have been in a building that collapsed after an adjacent building was hit by the military. The building that was struck was hit according to the IDF’s protocols, the probe finds.

The deaths of hostages Sharabi, 53, and Itay Svirsky, 38, were announced by officials in mid-January.
The probe said the IDF had intelligence information that an attack against troops was planned from the building.
The IDF said it has drawn lessons from the incident and will implement them in future strikes.
In the same building where Sharabi was killed, two more hostages were held by Hamas — Svirsky and Noa Argamani, 26.

Genuinely surprised more hostages haven’t been killed by Israel’s indiscriminate wanton bombing.
@TwoPartyAutumnSocialist2yrs2Y
Let me guess.
They aren't going to stop killing Muslims, jews and Christians until Jesus resurrects this man and Hamas returns him unharmed.
1. The war is not about Netanyahu. It's supported by the Left & Right in Israel.
2. Stop using Hamas casualty data. It's not accurate.
3. Hamas is holding hostages. The ICJ ordered their immediate release.
4. Hamas doesn't want a two state solution. They want a Final Solution.
@TreatySummerRepublican2yrs2Y
They wouldn't be killed if Hamas didn't start this war and capture them for leverage. Hamas needs to be removed permanently from Gaza once and for all.
@LuminousLemurRepublican2yrs2Y
The Israelis got 100+ hostages released and killed 20K+ Hamas terrorists. The blood of any other Palestinians is solely on Hamas for starting the war, continuing to hold Israeli hostages, and using civilians as human shields.
Want a ceasefire? Call on Hamas to free the hostages!
