Thousands of migrants have flooded through California's southern border from 73 different countries over just one week, border patrol confirmed.
According to data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection - San Diego Border Patrol Sector, agents apprehended 8,659 illegal immigrants from 73 different countries over a one-week span between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6.
In fiscal year 2021, there were only 450 Chinese migrants apprehended, in contrast to 2,176 and 24,314 in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Many are flying to Ecuador, where they don't need a visa, and making their trek through Latin America before reaching the U.S. southern border.

I believe it is important to understand our own countries policies to then see how we either support or disagree with them. Based on that opinion we could then see how we would participate on global interactions.

There should be a more efficient way to let immigrants to come here legally so they can have the freedom they want so we can have more come to America in a short amount of time. Also help them get a job and a place to live so they aren’t living on the streets.
We should help these people instead of sending them back because they came here for a reason.
What do they mean "apprehended". As in taken into custody? I thought California was against enforcing and immigration laws. They must be "apprehending" them so they can be flown wherever they want to go.
