Yemen’s Houthi militia has stated it plans more attacks on United States and British warships.
The Iran-aligned group’s statement, released on Wednesday, said all US and British warships participating in “aggression” against Yemen are targets. The statement stoked concern over the simmering tensions in the region as well as increased disruption to world trade.
The Houthis, who control the most populous parts of Yemen, have launched drones and missiles at shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November 19. The group said the attacks are a response to Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
The US and Britain have struck back at Houthi targets in Yemen as they patrol the Red Sea in a naval coalition that has swapped numerous attacks with the Yemeni group.
In the latest exchange, the Houthis fired missiles at the US warship USS Gravely. On Tuesday night, US Central Command said its forces had shot down an antiship cruise missile.
On Tuesday, Mohamed al-Atifi, commander of the Houthi forces, said: “We are prepared for a long-term confrontation with the forces of tyranny. The Americans, the British and those who coordinated with them must realise the power of the sovereign Yemeni decision and that there is no debate or dispute over it.”

When will we stop calling g the Houthis terrorists and start calling them enemy combatants? It is obvious that China, Iran and Russia have declared war on the west, yet we can’t face the fact that we have been at a hot war for over two years now with them.
America is the aggressor. America has and is interfering in each of these countries. Do you just expect those countries to roll over? Of course they won't. Understandably so. So how do you stop the wars?

We started the war with them by arming Saudis years ago. You must have had your eyes, ears and mind closed. Israel has set off a powder keg in the Mideast and we are giving them money, weapons and political cover.
I guess you just can't wait for WW III or maybe another 9/11. We just spent 20 years in Afghanistan and Iraq because of clowns that think like you. Nothing but trillions down the toilet and now you want more of the same?

The Houthi have promised both Russia and China safe passage of their ships through the Red Sea because, they say, their only interest is in raising costs for the countries responsible for the destruction of Gaza

You have to be deeply clueless to not realize Iran, Russia and China are forming an axis against the Democratic western world.
It’s no surprise that dictatorships have aligned. They share common interests in repressing their populations.

Yes, the US is building an impressive alliance of democratic countries devoted to basic liberties such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, and various Jeffersonian democracies in Asia and Africa.
Do you propose we go to war with them for humanitarian reasons? Isn't your whole point that we should establish diplomatic relations with countries that hate us even if they attack their neighbors?
@SenateSeatRaccoonGreen2yrs2Y
I was merely responding to the laughable suggestion that the US is leading an alliance of free and democratic countries against autocracies.
