Ex-Obama aide Stuart Seldowitz charged with hate crime as NYC halal cart vendor says he wants to sue for hate speech, harassment

Mohamed Hussein said he was shaken by his recent encounters with Stuart Seldowitz after he was caught on camera harassing him while he manned the Q Halal Cart’s grill on the Upper East Side.

In the now-viral videos filmed earlier this month, Seldowitz can be seen unleashing a torrent of abuse at Hussein — including calling him a “terrorist” and asking at one point “did you rape your daughter like Mohammed did?

Should individuals be allowed to sue for hate speech, and if so, where should the line be drawn between free speech and harmful language?

This guy was clearly behaving like a giant *** but converting "being an *** into "hate crime" just continues the *** for-tat spiral of trumped up identity grievances. Whether "Islamophobia" or "anti-Semitism," the logic underpinning "hate crime" law is a total farce

"Hate crime" statutes are absurdly broad and require mind-reading of the accused, giving prosecutors an infinitely bendable tool to arrest and charge people, often in response to political pressure, and that's true whether or not you think one particular guy was asking for it

If you're a fan of the First Amendment, you should hope this guy beats these charges on First Amendment grounds. Doesn't make him any less of an *** but does preserve the principle of Free Speech for everyone, regardless of political viewpoint

It's harassment, day after day. There's got to be a difference between expressing an opinion vs seeking out a guy relentlessly and abusing him about his religion

Donald Trump nominates Pam Bondi as the next Attorney General

Former President and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as the next Attorney General of the United States, should he reclaim the presidency in the upcoming election.Bondi, a prominent figure in Republican politics, served as Florida's Attorney General from 2011 to 2019. She gained national attention for her legal battles on issues such as health care reform, consumer protection, and opioid abuse litigation. The number of Americans pursuing a second job is rising. So is the number of people unemployed for 15 weeks or longer.
