You believe that embracing diverse cultures leads to a more harmonious, tolerant, and enriched society.
Multiculturalism is a political ideology that emphasizes the value of diversity and the coexistence of different cultures within a society. It promotes the acceptance and celebration of cultural differences, including language, religion, race, and ethnicity, rather than enforcing a single cultural norm. Multiculturalism encourages the recognition and preservation of distinct cultural identities within a society, while also promoting equal rights and opportunities for all cultural groups.
The roots of multiculturalism as a political ideology can be traced back to the 19th and 20th cent…

Describe how learning about another culture's history or struggles has impacted your perspective on equality or justice.
@9K9DRVD1yr1Y
I feel bad, I wish that everywhere had justice and equality cause after all we are all people who deserve our own rights.
@9K9D8V31yr1Y
It shows that some people aren't as fortunate as other people. So we should be grateful
@9K9HXJ91yr1Y
I think that in learning about other cultures and their histories, the attainment and maintenance of technological superiority determines which cultures have the right to exist, regardless of how moral or immoral they are.
Learning about other cultures has showed me how all of our struggles as people as inherently connected, whether we're perpetuators of that struggle or we have similar struggles. We are all people, we all have inherent rights that should be protected, everyone should be equal, and we all need to fight for each other. No one is fully free until everyone is.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How does experiencing another culture's form of storytelling, whether through books, music, or dance, affect your empathy towards them?
@9KC5JKL1yr1Y
Have zero opinion of this subject and that of other countries
Exposure to other people, cultures, & art is vital to every living person.
@9KC5HFY1yr1Y
It helps me understand them and empathize with them more effectively.
@9KC5TGW1yr1Y
I feel comfortable with the fact that we are able t
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
If you could learn any language fluently right now, which would it be, and how do you think it would impact your life?
@9HJCHFX1yr1Y
Spanish. It would help me connect to more Spanish-speaking people as there is an abundance of them in the US. It would also be helpful regarding traveling too.
@9HJCBC5Independent1yr1Y
I would like to learn either Spanish or German. Spanish would be the most practical, while German would just be cool to know
@9HJC85Y1yr1Y
I would want to learn French because I think it would be cool and interesting.
@9HJBY631yr1Y
Spanish. A lot of people speak it especially around me.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Why do you think some people find it difficult to accept cultural differences, and how can this be addressed?
@9HGW84V1yr1Y
People can't accept change and people would rather stick to their own culture. People should have an open mind and get all the steryotypical thoughts out of their heads.
@9HGWCF71yr1Y
Yes. Stop labeling everyone as a racist because they may have a view point that you don't agree with. Just because you don't agree on something doesn't automatically make someone a racist, sexist, homophobe, etc. Also get the media to stop perpetuating the national race war and allow racial tension to subside. People naturally want to be good. The world isn't as racist as the media wants you to think.
@9HGW3ZL1yr1Y
They just are not used to them or not open to the idea of diversity
@9SCFX287mos7MO
Some people find it difficult, but it has gotten better over the years as we have abolished segregation. We just need to find ways to be more inclusive.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Recall a time when witnessing cultural diversity led to a creative or unexpected solution to a problem.
@9K9CXVG1yr1Y
in my ffa group we have Latvians that are hard workers.
@9K9CP5B1yr1Y
murals that were painted after george floyd's death
@9K9DG2S1yr1Y
I saw a video online, of a little boy seen riding a subway or train with his mother in China. Standing near the kid and his mother, was a elder man who is African American. The kid opened eyed, asked the man "Why is your skin so dark and your lips sop black?" The man didn't take this specific question personally but rather saw it saw learning experience. He simply told the little boy, "I'm African. I am from Africa. a lot of people look similar to how I do, there." The little boy responded, "Oh, that's cool."
like when Argentina won the Qatar2022 world cup , you can see people for soo diverse culture united celebrating even countries that hate thier shoulders
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How might your favorite holiday change if influenced by traditions from other cultures?
@9KYWXZD1yr1Y
There are many holidays to celebrate, and if the commonly-known holidays, celebrated in the US were to be altered due to another tradition, I feel it would be best for people to celebrate the holiday as they see fit. What will it matter if the holiday has changed, you can celebrate like you always have been. Everyone is different, similarly to the differences of cultures.
@9L4FHS3Libertarian12mos12MO
Everyone should be allowed to follow their own religion and holidays as they see fit for them as long as it is not harming anyone
@9KYZ24L1yr1Y
Halloween would become more fun, incorporating more scary stories from outside of Europe. It would start to include more costumes and more cultural sweets.
christmas might develop new traditions, that some would consider negative, but I believe anyone can celebrate as their choosing.
@9KYW5Y6Republican1yr1Y
I feel we should celebrate the holidays that are most widely celebrated in the US. I understand wanting to be more inclusive to other people's cultures and there is nothing wrong with that, however, we do not see many other countries celebrating US holidays that do not align with their cultures so it does not make sense to do otherwise in the US.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Can you think of a moment when understanding a different culture's perspective helped you in a disagreement?
@9HJCQ2C1yr1Y
when understanding a different culture you see that there a lot of differences and similarities.it helps you understand other people perspectives
one time my brother called me a black person and I told him " actually I'm half black"
Every day I see my perspective shifted by formal and informal education about other cultures, socioeconomic statuses, races, ethnicities, beliefs, religions. The more context you have for the lives of other people, the less black-and-white the world becomes and you become more willing to engage in productive problem-solving.
@9HJCWW81yr1Y
Yeah, when I'm able to show Muslims that their religion is wrong.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Why do you think people are fascinated by cultural festivals, and which one do you find most intriguing?
I think people are fascinated by cultural festivals because it's a chance to display people's cultures to those who are unfamiliar with them. It can spread a sense of diversity, belonging, and equality.
@9KTH8WQ1yr1Y
These festivals show the different cultures that exist.
Exploring other cultures is essential. Understanding and respecting how other cultures operate can be a beautiful thing. I love Spanish culture.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What does it mean to you to live in a place where multiple holidays from various cultures are celebrated?
@9JHYVS41yr1Y
I am happy people can still come together in times of change. I like how everyone gets along most of the time
@9JHYM2K1yr1Y
I think it is important for society to accept multiple cultures and traditions within our communities.
@9JHYZSF1yr1Y
People celebrate their own holidays how they want.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
If you were to create an art project that represents cultural diversity, what would it look like and what message would it convey?
@9K98NZW1yr1Y
That each culture is unique and should be preserved and appreciated.
@9K9TJ381yr1Y
It would look like a rainbow of people from different cultures with different food, music, and other things.
@9K9983R 1yr1Y
An art project representing cultural diversity could take many forms, but let's imagine a large mural painted on a public wall in a bustling city. The mural would depict a vibrant tapestry of different cultural elements, such as traditional clothing, food, music, dance, architecture, and symbols, interwoven together in a harmonious composition.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What do you think is the most significant barrier to understanding between different cultures, and how could that barrier be overcome?
@9HJBH2N1yr1Y
I think that I do not know enough about it so I don't have an opinion.
@9HJBQWTRepublican1yr1Y
The main barrier is people getting offended when they are not even that race. Say a white person dresses up in a poncho and sombrero, other white people will get mad and offended when they are not even Hispanic. I don't know why because culture is a thing to share, not to keep to themselves and forced to keep to themselves.
@Liam_Hetland 1yr1Y
In order to eliminate racism and the need for equality, stop focusing on race and instead focus on people. It shouldn’t matter what race, ethnicity, country of origin, sexuality, or any other determining factor. For one, colleges should not grant scholarships to other groups ceased on these factors, but instead only focus on income and intelligence.
@9HJBMGV1yr1Y
Many people believe getting into a specific culture could be considered racist. For example, wearing traditional clothes. If people just consider the actual feelings of those who belong to that culture than understanding each other may become easier
@ISIDEWITH12mos12MO
How do you think expressing ourselves through the arts can transcend cultural boundaries and foster understanding?
@9L9SQDG12mos12MO
by including all cultures into arts so we all can learn and get more knowledge about other cultures.
@9L9SKFM12mos12MO
The arts is used as a way of expression. It’s to inform and let the one watching form their own opinion
@9L67NRZ12mos12MO
I think expressing ourselves through the arts can transcend cultural boundaries as everyone can appreciate good art.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How important do you think it is for public signs and information to be available in multiple languages?
@9HJCVJ51yr1Y
I think its importnt in comunitys that dont have english as their primary language.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What's a personal value you hold that was influenced by a culture different from your own?
@9K98VNR1yr1Y
I think due to the cultures in my family I have become more sympathetic to a lot of immigration concerns and have wanted a greater emphasis on maintaining our cultural practices, especially for people who have different cultures and religion, as I find it interesting and necessary to immerse yourself in other cultures and to framiliarize yourself with other religions as an individual. As someone with a very distinct culture and as a 2nd generation american, I think sharing our cultures and keeping them alive is the most important thing.
@9K98NNP1yr1Y
Native American culture influences me a lot because of their respective nature towards the world.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Should governments promote multiculturalism, and what might be the pros and cons of such policies?
@9HJDGTP1yr1Y
to require the fundamental fact of poverty in face of intiution. lots of cons nor pros
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What might be the pros and cons of having a 'cultural day' in schools where students share their heritage?
@9HJD5PP 1yr1Y
it could be very beneficial so that other kids could learn about the diversity of others, but this could also be a sad day for other kids because they could not know much about their heritage or they have been made fun of about their heritage in the past so its not something they like to talk about.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How does fashion from various cultures inspire your own style, and what does this say about cultural exchange?
I really like to see the way that these individuals take things that are important to them and their cultures and incorporate them into their day to day wear in incredible ways. Seeing these things inspires me to experiment and implement things important to me and my culture into my daily wear. Occasionally I also implement things from other cultures into my styles but I try to do so in a way that is respectful, understanding, and culturally appropriate. It's important to appreciate other cultures and not to take from them.
@9KVLRGT1yr1Y
I think it's kinda weird when people that are not apart of that culture are wearing something form someone elses culture, i mean i get it its fun to dress differenly but some of the things people form that culture have a meaning behind it.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How do languages act as bridges or barriers in a multicultural setting according to your experience?
@9JPLYG8Republican1yr1Y
Languages act as bridges to opportunity. The opportunity to learn and respect new cultures from an inside perspective and within a multicultural setting provokes the opportunity to present itself. We can not progress and be knowledgeable without multiculturalism.
@9JPK67F1yr1Y
Minority languages are less informed in every way.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How would you approach educating someone who holds prejudiced views about a culture different from theirs?
Tell them to keep an open mind and put themselves in the other persons views.
@9JHCJNRConstitution1yr1Y
I would try to get them to be more open minded and color blind and not hold any one person accountable for another's actions.
@ISIDEWITH12mos12MO
How might your understanding of courage or bravery be reshaped by learning about its meaning in other cultures?
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What's a myth about your own culture that you'd like to dispel, and what's the truth?
@9L3GKDZ1yr1Y
most white men I know genuinely don't have any discrimination toward races and feel like its now us that are being ridiculed, shamed and literally segregated from certain parts of college campuses.
@9L3965W1yr1Y
Scandinavians aren't just extremely happy for no reason, they have many socialistic policies.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How would you resolve a cultural misunderstanding you've encountered without offending the other person?
@9J88N6VRepublican1yr1Y
I think people will be offended for any reason these days.
@9J88M2M1yr1Y
Ask the person to explain the topic i don't know/understand
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
When has a personal encounter with someone from a different culture taught you something unexpected about yourself?

When have you felt a strong connection to a tradition from another culture, and how did it broaden your outlook?
