No, and provide more training and education for police officers to avoid future instances of miscondcut

Yes, but improve efforts to charge officers with criminal charges for misconduct rather than fiscal responsibility.

 @9ZJF4H8 from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

if there is a history of misconduct an officer's immunity can be revoked. There should also be more training and education.

I do not believe in immunity for one's actions after swearing an oath yo uphold the law but do agree more training and education us required in law enforcement.

 @9WDNXMP from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

Policemen should be already made aware of their rules and regulations before the job and while in the job. There shouldn't be a reason why cops aren't educated on how to do their job.

No, but their stress needs to be addressed. Shorter shifts, shorter weeks, rotate between street and desk, ...

 @9LD6B9Z from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only given more training and education for police officer and with independent investigations in every case and with police departments not having immunity, and police unions should be banned.

 @9GZQ9GZ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Combination of "Yes, but only for officers that have a clean record of no complaints" but only in very specific cases with a lot of evidence and proper trial and everything, and "No, and increase the personal liability for misconduct "

Police should be held accountable and not abuse their power but do need to have more training so that mistakes won't be as common.

 @9FF43N6Republican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They should always be held accountable which is why they should be trained to handle all scenarios they would come across

No, every law enforcement officer (LEO) at every level of government must be required to carry liability insurance (bonded) so that they pay for their misconduct instead of tax payers. Yes if they're a good Samaritan but should be provided more training and education for police officers.

 @8VLD48F from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, because as an officer, they should know what counts as misconduct and what doesn't, having immunity will lead to more officers getting away with things they should have already been taught and are supposed to understand

 @9CDNKFZ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Qualified immunity ought to be removed from Police Officers, Prosecutors, and Judges.

 @9BC4PPG from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes as long as the officer is in good standing in the department, and don't have previous complaints

 @9B9YM6Y from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only for officers with clean records AND provide more training and education for police officers

 @9B3RJHSIndependent from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, just like normal citizens are held up to a standard to know all laws so should cops.

 @8P9CLBGSocialist from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Officers should be held to a higher standard than the people on to enforce the law safely.

 @9FG8YXV from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, qualified immunity is abused consistently and is purposely not clearly defined. However I do believe there needs to be something in place to protect officers who were simply doing their job.
