National borders are unnatural- people do not choose their country of birth and therefore should be free to reside anywhere in the world. The earth was not meant to be divided.

 @9G6DV8G from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

National borders, especially Trump's south border have helped drastically reduce drug import, human trafficking rates, and crime within our country. I believe all people coming into the U.S. should come legally. It's unfair for those who respect the law and wait for their green cards to be approved. Undocumented people take advantage of America's freedoms. Our country will be a sea of criminals without our borders.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Actually, there has been no real evidence to support the claims that a border wall has or will "drastically reduce drug import, human trafficking rates, and crime within our country". If anything, the existence of borders is a significant root cause of many of these problems in the first place, as they create unnecessary nationalism and inequality.

 @9F83NXX from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

People should be allowed to better their life for them
And their family. That’s why they should be allowed.

 @9G95Z9J from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There should be national borders that people are not allowed to cross unless they have citizenship in the United States.

 @9G3XJHB from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I believe if we abolish borders unwanted immigrants will come in and carry an abundance of crime and issues with them.

 @9FLN84NRepublican from Indiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Our country isn't open to illegal immigrants, so they shouldn't be allowed into our country unless the have a green card and have legally gotten into our country rather than illegally crossing our borders.

 @9FLX4DK from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

there is a reason they are fleeing their countries, its because they are **** holes and they aren't willing to fight to make their countries better, so if they all come over here then the same will happen over time.

 @9G7WKPT  from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

As anyone with the slightest ounce of common sense would say, "A Nation Without Borders Will Cease to be a Nation." Our nation is already being used as a sort of "piggy bank" for the rest of the world, especially down south. If we abolish these borders, we leave our major cities vulnerable to being flooded by migrants, no longer "illegal" and subject to criminal prosecution due to the lack of borders. Then it's a lose-lose situation. Allocating taxpayer money towards their care will further raise our deficit, but not investing in them will result in drastically increased crime, forcing urban residents out. There is no racism here, it is a matter of logical reasoning and concern for the well being of both Americans and immigrants.

 @9GGQPKK from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There are too many crazy people who want to do harm to America. We need to secure our borders and improve the process of becoming a citizen.

 @9FVV72F from Maryland  disagreed…2yrs2Y

 @9GG9GBJ from Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think we should keep the walls. We are letting a lot of immigrants into our country that has raised crime rates and have caused other important issues to our country.

 @9GDGP3N from Michigan  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It would only be sustainable if we got rid of every governmental program that acts as a “safety net” (ex: welfare, public healthcare, etc…) If we had no governmental programs than completely open immigration would be feasible. However, I do believe that having some sort of legal immigration that allows people from other parts of the world to become full fledged citizens is a necessity, and we cannot extend our constitutional rights to anyone who crosses our border (ex: the right to vote).

 @9GD28Q9Republican from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We need a way to keep illegal immigrants out and all the drugs they bring with them, our military forces aren’t strong enough to handle all of them.

 @B3VGV2T  from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

When debating the position of abolishing national borders and embracing open immigration, several significant counterarguments arise. These concerns typically revolve around national sovereignty, economic stability, social cohesion, and security.
1. National sovereignty and self-determination
A fundamental challenge to open borders stems from the concept of national sovereignty, the idea that a nation has the right to govern itself and determine its own laws, including who can enter and reside within its territory.
Abolishing borders would effectively mean relinquishing this sovereignty and…  Read more

Trumps border has made this country way more safe. It has stopped multiple illegal immigrants from coming in and has stopped many criminals and other horrible people from coming in and ruining this great country. Biden completely ruined that when he became president and absolutely destroyed this country

 @B2J8SMK from Tennessee  disagreed…9mos9MO

 @B22J2F7 from Colorado  disagreed…10mos10MO

Countries are more than just “economic zones” as the post-war consensus would have you believe. People have their own culture, religion, customs history and philosophy and letting in anyone and everyone ruins that.

 @9ZSJX3Wfrom Georgia  disagreed…11mos11MO

Look, if we do that, we are letting in criminals who will take away jobs, and they should be coming legally. Without borders we would be done for as invasions could occur. basic common sense. Just follow the law

 @9ZR9Z3G from Ohio  disagreed…11mos11MO

Criminal Cartels, Murderers, and Rapists would be let into this country and commit more crimes. Simple as that.

 @9ZHZR9DRepublican from Pennsylvania  disagreed…11mos11MO

Foreigners who come to your land will eventually rule it, this has been a historical lesson ever since the Romans.

 @9GXHTVP from Louisiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The American identity must be maintained through the white, originally European culture. All who do not conform to our culture should be separated from us. Our border keeps those who are dangerous and are not of our race away from us.

 @9GTP4DT from Iowa  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Borders protect people on both sides. It serves to discourage people from trying and it helps protect Americans that live along the boarder. It is unrealistic to think such a large area can be properly monitored.

 @9F6S566 from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

No, we need borders to protect the foundation of this country, without borders or protection the risk of terrorist attacks increases.

 @9J8Z4WK  from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think that’s stupid if we don’t have a border we are not a country there has got to be sections cut off from another country otherwise what separates ours from theirs

 @9HZ5HJ3  from Tennessee  disagreed…2yrs2Y

without national borders our country lacks protection and crime rate would increase, because of the lack of borders for a nation it would cause no means for separate countries, and unwanted or harmful people could enter our country at any time and add to the rate of homelessness for the recognized citizens.

 @9H5FQTB from Mississippi  disagreed…2yrs2Y

South Africa, where they chant "kill the white farmer" and then do so.

They have their country, and our National Sovereignty cannot be surrendered to the whims of foreigners.

 @9FM22QMRepublicanfrom Virgin Islands  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Criminals, mentally ill, potential terrorists and other unwanted or harmful people could enter in the country and ruin the life of its citizens.

 @9FLNGGD from Indiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

What do we do when we can not provide what they need and we become over populated, America already have so many homeless

 @9FLK8LD from Massachusetts  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We need borders so we don't have constant territory disputes and also so wee can keep peace and illegal immigrats out

 @9FLK3TWRepublican from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We should not abolish borders because it would not be fair to those who work so hard to legally get into this wonderful country.

 @9FLFL8J from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The Mexicans weren't here when we were fighting the redcoats, so why should we open our borders and let them take in the benefits of being an american citizen.

 @9FLDKQKRepublican from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Immigrants take people's jobs, usually add to the homeless population, and usually become drug addicts or are arrested or killed.

 @9FM34CG from New Jersey  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If you abolish borders then you must also abolish security laws, taxes, socialism and anything that would separate differing opinions and cultures.

 @9FLLTSB from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

No. The security of the national borders is paramount to the safety and welfare of all citizens, especially if there are conflicting ethnicities, languages, cultures, and other aspects such as crime waves by cartels.

 @9FJ76Q5 from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

borders represent separations of cultural and good/bad ideas and destroying borders would destroy individual culture

 @9FJ64L3 from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If we were to abolish all national borders, then this would make the United States of America more susceptible to sleeper agents and also cartel members as well.

 @9FF7KRV from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

dont abolish national borders because then the illegals will have a way to get in our country and destroy it

 @9F7WBLC from Maryland  disagreed…2yrs2Y

 @9F6ZYDS from Michigan  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I dont believe it should be abolished, but strongly monitored and specifically gone through if you plan to come into the state.

 @9FPLWLZ from Iowa  disagreed…2yrs2Y

No don't abolish all borders position because we need to keep immigrants out of our county like poland

 @9FWQ6FDRepublican from Rhode Island  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Your front door, your bedroom door, your bathroom doors are all borders. Do you let me walk in uninvited and sleep in your bed, dirty your toilet as I please?

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…2yrs2Y

Well no, because that’s personal property, and the border is land that’s mostly empty.

 @9RRM3PSIndependent from Florida  commented…1yr1Y

Abolish national borders, but also abolish all forms of social welfare programs along with it. If you decide to move to another country you should be propared to support yourself and your family, without relying on socials programs paid for with tax dollars.

 @9GKPQKQLibertarian from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Abolishing national boarders would increase the introduction of crime into the country. Everybody who comes into this country should do it legally regardless.

 @9GKN9WYIndependent from Indiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Eliminating all national borders would pretty much mean there's no reason for separation of countries at all

 @9F5FW48 from South Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Everyone needs to pay taxes and healthcare, if all borders are open the ones paying will be paying for everyone.

 @9F56STY from Kentucky  disagreed…2yrs2Y

they are illegal for a reason. if i go to another country, i have to go through the proper procedures. everyone else should as well

 @9GFSPKQ from Michigan  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Abolishing national borders would be nice for cultural exchange but would create issues where there are people unaccounted for on either side of the border and create problems for them.
