Assault weapons don't exist as most people know them an assault weapon would be more akin to a cannon or mortar not a long ranged automatic or semi automatic rifle which both should still be taken away so they should have a buy back and take all semi auto and automatic rifles except for semi automatic handguns.

No, an “assault weapon” is any weapon used to commit assault. We should not be paying criminals to turnover weapons used in assaults.

 @9443YQR from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but it should ban the selling of any assault-style weapons. We are given the right to bear arms, but not the right to sell arms.

 @8Z2H3NM from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

No, assault weapon just refers to having a pistol grip and is magazine fed. That is nearly every gun in existence.

 @8SDR7WB from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

No, criminals will find a way to keep their guns while law-abiding people will give theirs up putting more people in danger. This is also just a first step to buybacks of more weapons.

No, LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, should be allowed to own guns, even high powered weapons. The area that needs attention is making sure that felons and illegal aliens are not allowed to have weapons.

No, violates 2nd amendment. Also, what is the legal definition of an assault weapon...

 @8VK3MQTDemocrat from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and move a step further and ban military grade weapons for everyday citizens.

 @8SD37V3Republican from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

No, this could cause law-abiding citizens to sell their guns while criminals would not.

 @8LFJFKD from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Allow for people to buy back their Assault weapons voluntarily with large financial incentives, and more mental health and background checks when purchasing guns in the future.

 @9SJ83W5 from Missouri  answered…9mos9MO

No

The criminal sectors of the population will continue to acquire the weapons illegally. Law abiding citizens, heaven forbide --anarchy occurs, should be able to have a arsenals for defense.
