I think it depends on the area and the needs of that area. This might be something better decided on a local level?

 @9TBQCFV from Utah  answered…9mos9MO

Anytime the government is involved it's all gonna go to waste, they'll spend your money wastefully while you spend it wisely.

 @9SRBDV3  from Utah  answered…9mos9MO

I think that the states should make this decision and push it to the public. I personally would be willing to vote for it and pay for it within my state.

 @9S8NZJT from Utah  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, but be determined by local leaders based on researched need. I hate seeing empty buses in my area driving around costing tax payers when their wasn't a real need.

 @9NYVNVQIndependent from Utah  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, but this should be determined by state need. Increase requirements for public transportation access, but incentivize green energy transportation options in more rural areas where public transportation is inaccessible.

 @9H87XN7 from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

I mean theirs lot of ways to get around nowadays and theirs a lot more stuff that the money can go into

 @9GSGK9B  from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only in areas where there is a high use of public transport, the solutions should also be environmentally friendly.

 @9FL2SYH from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DPZM4X from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Transportation can be hard, especially for those who are trying to get to work so maybe in that purpose but I think we have enough ways to be transported. we should put money towards other more important situations.

 @9D5DSQZ from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

No. There should only be private transportation. If you have to steal money from your neighbor to travel, that travel is illegitimate.

 @8KXG5T3 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8DNBTVYLibertarian from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

No, public transportation spending should be handled at the state and local level

 @9BRRK2FRepublican from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @96V6SG6 from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but it should be in partnership with competing private enterprises. Not state directed.

 @93VQ5XM from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Just increasing the spending isn’t going to fix the public transportation issues, it’s also about car obsessions and cities not being built with public transport in mind

 @93N7VM6 from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

The public transit system should be the responsibility of the people, cheap solutions are within grasp

 @92PSBMS from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

The government shouldn't be apart of transportation, it should be state decision

 @Apollo22 from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZJDM4P from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and provide cheaper public transportation, look at Japan as an example.

 @8WXQ7KC from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

No, Because I think we need to put more funding into Infrastructure but I do agree with researching into more reasonable ways of transporting with there current funding

 @8TS3LM9 from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QQKGHFIndependent from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

 @chickentaco from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

It depends on the area you live in and how readily available transportation is in that area. I also think that they should find or promote more environmentally friendly public transportation.

 @8NWMG2WRepublican from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MQ7XGL from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but add taxes to them so that we may have a better country and lower taxes in other places

 @8L8Q6P3 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KZNMC9 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

The state government should spend more in public transportation, but only in locations where public transportation will be frequently utilized, and where public transportation will reduce carbon emissions.

 @8KYM7DZ from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but that the government provides more free transportation that is an eco-friendly solutions.

 @8KFZTKS from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Gas tax- or something similar - should cover these expenses. Then those using these services are the ones paying for them.

 @8KBD3XG from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Only in cities that need it. Too many cities are too small to need public transit and adding it just costs excess money and makes it even more difficult to travel.

 @8K3MKGB from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

I think we benefit from incentivizing it. It's hard to get past convenience of setting ones schedule

 @8HT7LFF from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, only if was more oversight so there isn't over spending in areas not needed.

 @8HSS8JD from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CMBXDR from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CBK2G9 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8C8S233 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, as long as money is spent on solutions that will actually help speed up transportation, and benefit people as a whole.

 @9BFFLTF from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if they are working on improving the transportation infrastructure that is already in place.

 @9BCL8XX from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9B853X9 from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9B82JJC from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Funding for public transportation should only be increased if there is a proven need in a community and if the system will actually fill that need

 @9B7CC38Republican from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if the funding is redirected from other government sources, and we can also guarantee that the money spent on transportation is actually used effectively.

 @993D89Z from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Public transportation should be free, and they should put money towards more environmentally friendly solutions.

 @98QLLTY from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Local governments have the authority to provide public transportation according to the votes of the people in that jurisdiction. The federal government only has the authority to construct interstates, under the military clause in the Constitution.

 @98P9TVB from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98P35FV from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

No, we should consolidate our spending to be more effective with where we put our money. Some areas have good public transportation while some don't, learn from the good and put our money in areas that actually work.

 @98P2Q5C from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Allow each state to decide on the quality of transportation within state boundaries

 @98MGSHN from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98M22WJ from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98L5NXJConstitution from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Roads and transportation infrastructure should be a state responsibility. We pay taxes and fees for our state to care for our roads. We do not need state and federal involved unless the state is not taking care of their responsibility.

 @98BZMM5 from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Only if police enforcement with public transportation is increased as well.

 @988KJBL from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

No, until we have sustainable environmentally friendly energy sources, we cannot support environmentally friendly transportation

 @986KVWK from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9827D4P from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and the spending should go towards environmentally friendly solutions. More free public transportation should be provided as well

 @97WP6XX from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't really have much education on this subject and thus don't have a stance

 @97K2MXP from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and provide more free public transportation and also the cost should go to environmentally friendly solution.

 @93VQ62T from Utah  answered…3yrs3Y

Cities should be planned and built around the possibility of using public transport—spending should increase as accessibility and desire to use public transport increase

 @8KFWKS6 from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Regardless of the level of spending on public transportation, it is a state issue per the 10th Amendment. In my state, I would opt to decrease the spending on public transportation.

 @8J9QD2S from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8H79TSL from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8GWTJRV from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

I only agree with it so long as they pay for and investigate high quality solutions. Don't be like California and talk to China rather than Japan when trying to build a bullet train that you never end up building.

 @8D94LSM from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

Local governments should address this question for their constituency, not the federal government.

 @8GZDPXWIndependent from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

These are regional issues and should have economic, efficient, and reasonable solutions that meet the needs and have the approval of the localities.

 @9GM4BFW from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Somewhat, with more free public transportation, yes, if the public transportation is controlled by a company that company should do the spending, not the government.

 @9CG5QKWIndependence from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but the costs should shared between the federal and state governments.
