Yes, but more through providing essential services such as healthcare, public transport, and other social services.

 @8DTXKQR from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8YTCNZ5 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only those who are below the poverty line should be granted this income.

 @8W9G4FQ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

yes and no, everyone should receive an income but it wont mean stop working.

 @8TNGSMT from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

No, Universal Basic income without Single payer healthcare, Free College, and Housing Programs is a distraction from those policies

Yes, if it is of decent quality. Free/Less expensive government plans usually aren't good quality and are unreliable.

 @8RZ7ZWJ from Idaho  answered…5yrs5Y

They should make it so only those who need it get it. and bring more jobs back to America rather then out sourcing.

 @8RYV4BP from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8RXFKJX from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, it should be just enough to help people get by, but not enough for people to live on without some form of extra income.

 @8RVPZZT from North Dakota  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8RT8WG7 from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

People need to actually have a real reason to have this, but if they do, like autism or some other thing that keeps them from working a normal job, than yes.

 @8RMWJXH from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8R9BSZSGreen from Washington  answered…5yrs5Y

No, cause there's no guarantee that the money will go to food and housing. Perhaps increase food subsidies.

 @8QLMFJY from South Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

I think this is good but people who already have a lot of money don't need this. And make it to where those people eligible are also helping the community and not just feeding off of this.

 @8QH9BMK from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes but there should be a specific reason that they can't do it on their own and they should still need to work and be provided what they can't provide themselves

 @8Q95N5Y from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8Q6C324 from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

I say yes and no because we should all be able to have basic necessities but at the same time it would encourage people to not work and harm economic growth.

 @8Q48432 from Georgia  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8PM2KZ4 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

UBI is an excellent idea but to give money and not ensure such money will be sapped up by landlords and grocers on a large sale could cause no proper change to occur

 @8PD4R6F from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but that shouldn't be used to strip current welfare programs because it would lead to price shoking

 @8NRMVTW from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, as long as existing welfare programs and social safety nets aren't eroded as a result.

 @8MBKVNT from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, enough to help those in need become more financially secure but it should not be so much that people stop working and moving society forward.

 @8M6V54NReformfrom Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but there must be proof of income and a review for those who need it every 6-12 months.

 @8LBV5K6from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8L24ZJ8 from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but it should only be allowed to be given to individuals that are struggling to provide for their basic needs.

 @8K2MYVX from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

I think money should be going to help people who face unfortunate events as the result of an emergency

 @8JZ88ND from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but u can not be doing drugs and weekly drug text and spend it on stuff u need.

 @8JXMXHQ from California  answered…5yrs5Y

I think this can help some people but can also hurt the economy, I'm indifferent but it does sound like a good idea only if people use it for good.

 @8JRB6FX from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

I believe that people that are trying and have a job but cant support should get help

 @8JHRKKB from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

No, I support universal basic wealth. Income just gets spent. We have sufficient GDP now to guarantee all people the ability to support themselves just on the interest income from their share.

 @8JG5NQG from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but for people that are proven to be unable to live without the program.

 @8J9B3MS from South Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8J928HW from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8J8522D from Colorado  answered…5yrs5Y

If your career field is replaced by automation, then you should get an income for a limited time until you receive the training for or have another career.

 @8J3WVTNWomen’s Equality from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

This should be a service to those having children, adopting, with medical/psychiatric conditions, Etc. who do not have the ability to work.

 @8HR37NN from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

If done correctly this could help a lot of people out. But the way I see people use our welfare system now it would only encourage people not to work. While I know some people only use the welfare money on necessities I also see a lot use it for wants instead of needs. Until some way of making sure people receiving benefits are working and not wasting, I disagree in the need for this. Though I was also raised to show that hard work will get you something.

 @8HHSSK9Progressive from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8HDWJN9 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8HD585RWomen’s Equality from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

this should be avaiable to the low income familys and or people that are working but need a little more help.

 @sophieszentgyorgyiSocialist from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but only to those whose income is currently less than the amount received by a UBI system

 @8GTMKQS from Nebraska  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but this should be decided and implemented at a state level similar to Alaska.

 @8GJWVFD from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Only if you're of legal age and are completely unable to pick up a job of any kind

 @8G5JDWQPeace and Freedom from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

I believe that young adults should have access to an income that covers basic necessities including food and housing for the first 3 years of their lives to encourage them to balance their work income. I also believe the elderly and retired should have access to these benefits without limitations once they hit a certain age.

 @8FHQCLY from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but the person needs to provide a source of income from a job. If without a job, there needs to be documentation of why that it. Ex. injury

 @8F76RKG from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

 @Inverse3264 from Oregon  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but I would rather support decommodification of basic necessities such as food and housing.

 @8DX7G73 from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but require those that can work to seek out jobs while receiving it

 @8DWS786Progressive from Oklahoma  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes but require that people over the age of 18 work 25+ hours a week to get this funding, and anyone under 18 must be enrolled in school & this money should be taxable like any other income

 @8DSF67Z from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, however you have to have maintained employment for the majority of the time period. We can't give out free money to people who aren't working towards making money themselves. In addition, people on social security and disability would not receive. They are not putting into the system so they should not be taking out more than they already are. I think it would also slow they rate at which people get on social security. They wouldn't use it until they need it. It could be used a reward system for people who are putting in the effort.

 @8DNWXJPGreen from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

I don't have enough information about this question to make an opinion on.

 @8DHYBCH from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

No, this will eventually lead to inflation. We can’t just keep upping the UBI so in the long run it’s not going to solve anything unless you can solve the inflation issue.

 @8CY79TG from Washington  answered…5yrs5Y

Having a small boost in income would help certain families in or near poverty, and shouldn't be raised to the point where somebody could life off it. It should be complimentary to a hard working citizen's already existing paycheck.

 @8CXNTDR from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

There should be a sum for people for the homeless, those in poverty, and struggling lower middle class (>35,000 income from a family with three or more)

 @8CX68H5 from Alabama  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CVYYXL from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but programs should be enforced to make sure this runs smoothly and honestly

 @8CPVKC8Democratfrom Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

There should be a pilot program to see the economic and social impact the basic income would have

 @8CM52LH from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but only for senior citizens, terminally ill and severely disabled

 @8CF7M48Reform from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CF598K from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but individuals need to have a job or be actively looking for one, similar to how the unemployment system works. Unless they are unable to work due to illness

 @8C5LZ6D from Montana  answered…5yrs5Y

Everyone should receive a benefit check from the extraction of natural resources similar to the one in Alaska, Everyone should be guaranteed a job if they choose to work and if the private sector isn't stable enough to provide those jobs, the US gov't should. There's plenty of work that needs to be done that is not being funded or relies on volunteers. We need to fund those projects to give people work.

 @8JRTJXZCommunist from Maryland  answered…5yrs5Y

UBI should not be the end all solution, it is not sustainable without a complete overhaul of the previous system

 @8JGJHJHGreen from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

my naber lives off this has 2 every day cars a fast car and a super moded truck and is unenploied

 @8HDB978 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but to the point where it doesn't make it so people don't have to work hard.

 @8GWYKJL from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8GMNJKF from Oregon  answered…5yrs5Y

During the pandemic, yes. I'd like to treat it as a pilot program and potentially make permanent but would want the data before going that far.

 @8GMCCLW from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but it should be offered as part of a program to help people enter the workforce and should only be used temporarily until they can enter the workforce.

 @8GJVXZ5 from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, only to those who are really in need it or those who cant work much for a health or legal reason.

 @8G5JDT7 from West Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8FZMRTL from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

Should be required to work full time and receive food stamps and house buying assistance / rent.

 @8FVLG8RGreen from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

UBI is an attempted social compromise designed to appease lesser educated socialists while simultaneously making actual socialism seem doomed to fail.

 @8F74G9Y from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but only if the person receiving the money needs it and is working currently.

 @8DN4VHB from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes but it should not be unconditional, it should be tied to income, and should be allowed to pass for a tax incentive

 @8D7HVL5 from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

you should have to apply and be approved and also must have a job to show u are working

 @8CKYSF6Peace and Freedom from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but citizens receiving this income must prove they have a job and they their annual income should determine if they qualify

 @owenfuckem from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

Regardless, the material issues addressed by a UBI in a capitalist system are more efficiently solved using socialist frameworks.

 @8HW6C9M from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8C6X86CDemocrat from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but only for unemployed but require employment after an amount of time unless disabled or an elderly. Needs more requirements before approval.
