they should be allowed depending on the crime and if it's a first offense or there's a history BUT they should NOT be mandated and it should not be one person's decision.

 @9SHJ3C3Democrat from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

False accusation and imprisonment is rather disgusting even if their presence here was obtained illegally, so no.

 @9S9R3V4Democrat from Ohio  answered…9mos9MO

No, as long as minor crimes are defined as nonviolent crimes. Violent crimes should warrant a person getting kicked up to the next level of authority and consequence

 @9HL7VQ4Women’s Equality from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

yes, although their crime is minor its still a crime, yet they dont need to be transfer them to immigration authorities, that would lead them to treat them differently, in this cruel world.

 @8XLR4JXDemocrat  from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Perhaps. Violent crimes should result in immediate deportation. More minor non-violent crimes should be taken into consideration deportation-wise after a certain accumulated amount.

 @7PTCG38Democrat  from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F7XPV2Democrat from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Perhaps. The term "minor crimes" is too vague as opposed to the "learn more section. That aside, major crimes such as violent felonies should result in a being turned over to federal immigration authorities. Minor crimes should be taken into consideration after a certain accumulated amount.

 @9DY7ZWLDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends. The term "minor crimes" is too vague as opposed to the "learn more" section. That aside, major crimes such as violent felonies should result in a being turned over to federal immigration authorities. Minor crimes should be taken into consideration after a certain accumulated amount.

 @ScoopesoDemocrat  from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

No, depending on the severity of the crime and whether they are repeat offenders. Meaning, after three consecutive non-violent crimes in a two-year span, send them back to their country. Felonies, automatic authorization to detain and transfer them to have them deported.

 @9DJ9XNHWomen’s Equality from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

I would have a back round check on the illegal immigrants , then if its "clean" then they can stay in america if that makes sense

 @9DJ9Q6CDemocrat from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

No, for minor crimes, detaining illegal immigrants is reasonable, but deporting them for a minor crime is too far

 @9XP7SWGDemocrat from Georgia  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, all illegals who commit crimes should be turned over to federal authorities but not necessarily deported.

 @8XLR4JXDemocrat  from North Carolina  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, and they should be deported after an accumulated amount of minor crimes without a victim or any violent crime

 @9BXBFDDDemocrat from New Hampshire  answered…2yrs2Y

No. Any encounter with immigrants by government officials should lead to the beginning of the citizenship process, if one chooses.

 @96MRKBHWomen’s Equality from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

If it is a major crime than yes but for minor crimes they should be treated the same as everyone else

 @967J38ZDemocrat from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

No, Rather they should be given the opportunity to become a naturalized citizen

 @93B4T2VDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZJG48GDemocrat from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

The problem is that if we deport immigrants for violent crimes, will it be used against them.

 @8Z22KF8Democrat from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and deport all races of people these asians and African illegals and citizens get away with too much

 @8Y2FQ69Democrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XSWZ3CJustice party member from California  answered…3yrs3Y

It shouldn't be instantly if it was one small crime but they should hand them over if they have done major crimes like murder or don't stop committing crimes

 @8XR9JWJDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, their should be no immigration authorities and all immigrants should be considered legal.

 @8XPL3GQDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and their should be no immigration authorities and all immigrants should be considered legal.

 @8XC6XFSDemocrat from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

Illegal immigrants, when accused of minor crimes, should still have constitutional rights and have a trial by jury before making a decision about detention or deportation.

 @8X9M3NXDemocrat from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

No, only if they are convicted of committing at least 3 crimes of any severity.

 @8X62LG4Democrat from Massachusetts  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TSXMXJDemocrat from Washington  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, any immigrant that does a crime should be held accountable for their actions, either by going back to their country or spending time in jail.

 @8SQ3T2SDemocrat from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SHKXMMDemocrat from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but they should be ticketed, be audited for tax purposes, and compelled to begin naturalization courses immediately or risk deportation.

 @8RMLXFWDemocrat from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, illegal immigrants must be properly vetted and documented so that they may be given the choice of applying for citizenship and allowing them to stay while they wait or deporting them.

 @8RLR6JYDemocrat from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

There has to be a certain extent to what a crime is. But if they break the law without knowing then no, but if they intentionally meant to hurt themselves, others, or anyone in general then yes.

 @8R33LWNWomen’s Equality from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that if it's a minor crime and not as major as they think. I do not think that they should be turned into and transferred to federal immigration authorities. I think that 9/10 the local law enforcement transfers them because they do not want them in the US, so they think by documenting a minor crime and deporting them will solve the problem when in reality it won't.

 @8QJMQMLDemocrat from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QFWS7XWomen’s Equality from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes to many non violent immigrants are convicted and yes there are some that are violent but I think they should do a lying detective

 @8QCDM9TDemocrat from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

If the illegal immigrants haven't done anything there is no reason to deport them and separate them from their families these people are just trying to chase after what they call "the american dream".

 @8QBP466Democratfrom Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

We should select the Best qualified immigrants who can have a positive contribution to our country (selective immigration)

 @8QBH83HDemocrat from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

No, they should only be deported for repeated minor crimes or violent crimes

 @8QB325PDemocrat from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PV56KFDemocrat from Michigan  answered…4yrs4Y

only if they are transporting something illegal or doing something illegal

 @8PTBZBRDemocrat from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

it depends on exactly what the minor crime is.But i guess if their illegal they should be transfered unless it was unwillingly/an accident.

 @8PR5X79Democrat from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PR59RFWorking Family from California  answered…4yrs4Y

It actually depends on what "type" of minor crime. I woul dagree most to "No, if they are convicted of a violent crime."

 @8PQLJHQDemocrat from Connecticut  answered…4yrs4Y

This should be left up to each city on if they decide to transfer them or not

They should not be here in the first place if they are illegal but the crimes should not be the reason they get in trouble.

 @8M76Y44Democrat from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

We could put them through a process to become legal. Major crimes get them out minor crimes but them in jail for a while.

 @8M72S6SDemocrat from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

The police should be able to take care of cituation but i don't think its necsssary to transfer back to the countries

 @8M3D4JNDemocrat from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Possibly if they actually did this and planned this but if they were forced to do it or in someway then no.

 @8LXWGHDWomen’s Equality from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

only if they are causing harm to us if they came here to be safe from something they should be able to stay.

 @8LWSZXMDemocrat from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

No, only if they are convicted of a violent crime and also, too many non-violent immigrants are being deported.

 @8LV88SDWomen’s Equality from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LTNZFZDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

In other countries being illegal is breaking the law, just like here. There should be a path to citizenship that makes sense but being illegal is breaking the law.

 @8LRSRX2Democrat from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but who cares if they committed a crime or not. Being Mexican is a crime in of itself

 @8LR98WPDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8L8GGG2Democrat from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

illegal immigrants should be transferred only if they had prior offenses or are criminals

 @8L7JWW3Democrat from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

They should only be deported if they do major illegal things, like violent crimes, and if they don't pay taxes.

 @8L434YHWomen’s Equality from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but detain them in liveable areas, not crowded areas that're filthy

 @8HFYKLPDemocrat from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but they should still have the presumption of innocence and due process for all other crimes

 @8H6KKTJDemocrat from Florida  answered…5yrs5Y
