The F-35 fighter is a stealth fighter jet being produced for the U.S. military by The Lockheed Martin corporation. Three variations of the single seat stealth fighter jet are being produced for the Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy. By 2037 2,457 F-35’s will be delivered to the military and will fly until they retire from service in 2070. The research, development and construction of the F-35 will be the most expensive military weapons program in the history of the U.S. When the F-35 retires in 2070 analysts estimate that the cost of the program will have exceeded $1.5 trillion. No, increase military strength and sophistication but do it within budget and have strict oversight to reduce fraud, waste and abuse
@9K3YBY61yr1Y
Be less free with the constituency's money please. Make the necessary upgrades to stay relevant militantly, but 1.5 trillion is exorbitant.
@9K3Z8MJ1yr1Y
No, but take steps to reduce the overall cost of the program (such as decreasing the number of F-35s produced)
@9JQVZHT1yr1Y
first focus on reducing the national debt and re-ordering the budget before spending any more money on fighter jets

No, I do not believe in canceling production of the F-35. But with that being said, there is misinformation on the F-35 and other projects that one deems wasteful and inefficient. I would rather talk to current military experts and people on military procurement on the F-35 than listen to people who may have an ax to grind or think modern military technology is stupid and, therefore, argue for vehicles or planes procured with outdated tech instead.

As long as it doesn't take away from other necessary endeavors.
Yes, but continue to operate the current F35 fleet. The F35 program has become unnecessarily large and too expensive.
@9F8P4TZWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
No but it should be only used in specific cases and have more rules
@9D2V2XG2yrs2Y
Yes, but continue to operate the current F35 fleet
@9CW6LJX2yrs2Y
Yes, but continue to operate the current F35 fleet.
@9CHCMRF2yrs2Y
Yes, but continue to operate the current F35 fleet.

Not really sure where I stand. If it is mandatory for the military to use this equipment to have an edge over the enemies then yes. But, it is also costing a lot of money, and there is definitely no need for the new equipment if the military is doing just fine with the equipment they have.
@9455287Independent3yrs3Y
I think the number should be limited down to around 500-1000 to be made.
@944Y77Y3yrs3Y
Yes, and discontinue its use altogether
@93YH8X73yrs3Y
@92VBMSD3yrs3Y
It’s too late now. The money has already been spent. It never should have been produced.
@jarrodswintDemocrat3yrs3Y
We should reduce military spending, but the specific decisions as to what should be cut should be left to military officials.
@8ZNSRK83yrs3Y
i think that they should put funding elsewhere in social welfare and then use the leftover for funding new technology
No, keeping current on technology is important for the military. However, increased transparency on spending could help lower costs.
@8XGC9HY4yrs4Y
I would wait on it and update some older craft first before we go there
@8WSR53N4yrs4Y
Yes, and cancel all wasteful military projects
@8TY29G34yrs4Y
@8SZRXNH4yrs4Y
Yes, and improve upon the F-22 raptor. American air superiority is paramount.
@8QRXTSP4yrs4Y
Yes there should be other cost efficient ways to keep edge
@8QQ3CZB4yrs4Y
Yes, and move that money to better causes
@8Q7TRLM4yrs4Y
No, so long as the military can do this after lowering its funding.
@8LVP7D5Republican5yrs5Y
Bring back and upgrade the A-10 Warthog
@8KZHDLQLibertarian5yrs5Y
Yes, but have production ready in case we need it.
@8J4XKVPLibertarian5yrs5Y
No, but they should make sure other assets are taken care of first.
@8HPXQZYLibertarian5yrs5Y
No, but we should focus more on production of the SR-72 reconnaissance craft if only to keep intelligence of the Middle East.
@8H7Y6QJ5yrs5Y
No, but give a lower budget
@8DTTPPH5yrs5Y
Yes, but they should provide funding so that the program remains cutting edge until it new technology renders it obsolete.
@8CB63D75yrs5Y
Costs needs to be lowered because spending os too high- trump lowered spending but they need to still be in production to maintain air superiority
@9BGWRGN2yrs2Y
Yes, until we reach a balanced budget and our deficit has been drastically reduced.
@99YQRMD2yrs2Y
Yes because it is a bad product
No, but they should scale back the production by at least 50%.
@98MMJ672yrs2Y
No, but lower the production rate.
@976FYHTIndependent3yrs3Y
Not if it is as good as they say it is.
@974M5ZG3yrs3Y
Yes, for the country's good
@8HGK5XX5yrs5Y
This should be for military leaders to decide
@93CS3TH3yrs3Y
Yes, but not until a weapon system is developed which actually delivers on its promises.
