A sanctuary city is a city that adopts local policies designed to not prosecute people solely for being an undocumented individual in the country in which they are currently living. In January 2017, President Trump issued an executive order that would withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities. In April 2017 a federal judge ruled that Trump’s order was unconstitutional.

If federal funding is withheld, then people with the juridiction of that city should not be required to paid federal taxes.
@ArghhGeeDub 4mos4MO
Yes, only if the federal government expressly approves immigration policies that overburden said cities.
@9VGP6JH7mos7MO
No, that would be aiding and abetting. Also, there is too much federal funding of things. The federal government should be smaller and involved in less.

Being an illegal citizen is not ok. Yet, the majority of immigrants are coming into the U.S. illegally to escape the terrors of corrupt governments of their homeland. I believe we should speed up the process for aliens to become legal, making it a quicker process for them to live here and contribute to our nation. Any aliens associated with cartels or trafficking should not receive any federal help whatsoever.

No, individual leaders of sanctuary cities should be imprisoned for dereliction of duty and failure to enforce laws.
@9H97GF71yr1Y
Yes and No because it promotes people to just come in undocumented and not getting legal papers. So it should only be offered in certain place and not just every federal funding.

I think the government should allow asylum to those who do not have malicious intent or have not committed crimes but should not be funding them. Non-profits should instead.
@9FWD4JN2yrs2Y
I think as long as the immigrants in the cities are actively working and trying to work for themselves, yes.
@96K4KPS3yrs3Y
I don't understand this enough to have a stance.
@94FMT7L3yrs3Y
it depends if the federal will actually use it for good and if not then no

@8ZRYN553yrs3Y
Yes, they should because if they haven't done anything wrong then they deserve a right to do so.
@8YVX22FRepublican3yrs3Y
Yes but not as much funding as other cities.
@8YV9MF2Independent3yrs3Y
No, this is a city issue.
@8YS3HDX3yrs3Y
Cities should enforce the laws and if they disagree with those laws, they should go through the proper means of changing those laws. reducing or eliminating federal funding may be an option, but it depends on what findings would be eliminated.
@8XLS63H3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as taxes are being paid.
yes, these cities are vital for undocumented immigrants. I dont think a lot of federal funding should be given, just enough to get them on their feet and help them become citizens.
@8TZK6R54yrs4Y
@Geddesn4yrs4Y
No, the decision should be made on a local level
@8Q7THPL4yrs4Y
No, as long as the issue is a constitutionally protected right.
@8K9DYZW5yrs5Y
No but we need to take advantage of immigrants. These people are not stupid accept them and let them contribute to the USA
@8JP3Q4C5yrs5Y

@8CYQBYBIndependent5yrs5Y

Yes but the same as they fund other cities similar to their size.
@98YSXJF2yrs2Y
I don’t know what this is.
@98DQ8FRLibertarian2yrs2Y
Yes, but not for things caused by their unwillingness to enforce the law
@95YY5R6Independent2yrs2Y
Yes, municipal and federal police powers are constitutionally separated for good reasons
@974PR2J3yrs3Y
yes, as long as they pay taxes
@8YVB2P73yrs3Y
Yes, though obviously there would be taxes involved.
@8XPDKCV3yrs3Y

@8NSRTV35yrs5Y

@8WG92P34yrs4Y
