In January 2014, 102 measles cases linked to an outbreak at Disneyland were reported in 14 states. The outbreak alarmed the CDC, which declared the disease eliminated in the U.S. in the year 2000. Many health officials have tied the outbreak to the rising number of unvaccinated children under the age of 12. Proponents of a mandate argue that vaccines are necessary in order to insure herd immunity against preventable diseases. Herd immunity protects people who are unable to get vaccines due to their age or health condition. Opponents of a mandate believe the government should not be able to decide which vaccines their children should receive. Some opponents also believe there is a link between vaccinations and autism and vaccinating their children will have destructive consequences on their early childhood development.

Yes but parents need to know the risks of said vaccines there is no drug that doesn’t have side effects and some side effects could be worse than getting the disease it fights off
@Dragonyy 2mos2MO
Yes, but only for deadly contagious diseases, as well as diseases which do not have particularly deadly effects, but those which may impair, disable, or otherwise interfere with a comfortable, normal life, as well as being contagious.
@B2CJKTJ4mos4MO
it is up to the parents but more than likely you should get the shots to prevent some of the diseases.
@9Y6FPJ87mos7MO
I have to be able to trust that enough people have validated the science w/out political interference. On the whole, absolutely for vaccines. but trust has been destroyed by the Covid response from governments.
@9XY6GPR7mos7MO
Depends on what the disease it is, what it comes from, and how deadly it is, depending on if the government require children to be vaccinated for preventable diseases.
@9S3GY3M10mos10MO
No, only well-proven vaccines against highly contagious or highly deadly diseases should be required, not half-ass-tested vaccines like the COVID ones turned out to be.
@9RN3C9X10mos10MO
No, only thoroughly developed and tested vaccines that are exceedingly-well-proven over decades to be effective with minimal or no negative side effects.
@9RCHGQC10mos10MO
Yes, but only for those that have very extensive (10-20 years) worth of data showing it's efficiency
@9MHZLGKLibertarian1yr1Y
People should be able to decide what they put in their bodies. However, if you tell me you're not being vaccinated because there is no scientific data on the vaccine while crushing a Red Bull and pre-workout, then you are required get in line for the vaccine; maybe even a health course after that.
@9JKGVPD1yr1Y
Yes, but only for vaccines that have been proven for over a decade to be effective for a supermajority of recipients without the need for boosters any more frequently than every ten years, like DTAP/TDAP and MMR.
@9H6YZN61yr1Y
Yes, provided there are tests done prior ensuring that the individual child is eligible to safely receive said vaccine
@9DVC2WR2yrs2Y
Yes, unless there are true/evidence based religion exception or medical reasoning
@9DLC7BP2yrs2Y
The government should not be able to force any person to do anything to their body that they don't want to do. For children, it should be up to the parent.
@973P9QV3yrs3Y
Require vaccination for public schools, but also exemptions for those with religious beliefs
@946B9RF3yrs3Y
As long as vaccines have been regulated and proven to be effective
No, but strongly encourage people to vaccinate their children and provide easy access to vaccinations.
@8Z5FV633yrs3Y
Yes, but with exceptions for those whose religious beliefs forbid use of vaccines but as well as deathly infections
@8Z5C4SG3yrs3Y
Everyone should have they own choice on what to do with their bodies but maybe they should be vaccinated for a preventable diseases
@8XS52B73yrs3Y
The parents should have a choice
@8XQR57K3yrs3Y
Yes in some cases but no in others like religion . Some times these vacations can cause harm to the people who get them
@8XGJ2JD4yrs4Y
Every one has the rights to do what ever they want
@8VLDRGN4yrs4Y
To a degree yes, for certain diseases that have had past records of being very deadly, but no to certain things like flu shots.
@8TSX38CIndependent4yrs4Y
No, but rather strongly encourage and push the vaccines to citizens. I do not believe they can require people but strongly advise vaccines as I am for them.
@8SZH9W8Republican4yrs4Y
It’s the parents choice to do it I don’t think it’s necessary for younger people my age to get the vaccine.
@8SZG4CK4yrs4Y
its completely up to the parents if they want to vaccinate their kid
@8SF6NJC4yrs4Y
no but encourage people to take them
it depends!! i dont think it is a one size fits all
@8PNRXP74yrs4Y
No, people should have the right to choose what they think is best for thier kids.
@8MX6BDM5yrs5Y
No we should require vaccine manufacturers to prove vaccines are safe before we require our children to take them
@8M7FFSLProgressive5yrs5Y
Yes but only if the vaccine is approved with strict standards and scoring
@8M5DWGQRepublican5yrs5Y
Yes, except for those with diagnosed medical allergies or probable deadly allergic reaction.
@8LSCK745yrs5Y
yes but only if there body can deal with the stuff in the vaccine
Parents should decide whether to vaccinate their children or not. The government, doctors, and hospitals should only require the most critical vaccinations that have been proven to prevent disease and not cause harmful side effects over a lifetime.
@8K5PGSS5yrs5Y
I feel like vaccination is important but I really don't a lot about it.
@8HHWL7D5yrs5Y
they should not because parents and children should have a choice
@8GDVTCS5yrs5Y
Yes. Only of they REALLY DO increase fda standards and reevaluate what vaccines are needed.
@8DZ49ST5yrs5Y
Yes, only for non-controversial, universally-accepted, harmless vaccines for highly dangerous diseases, not simple things like the common influenza or with vaccines that contain chemicals suspected of causing developmental problems.
@8DWDPWP5yrs5Y
More research needed if vaccines are good and what age given for safety
@8DLKM825yrs5Y
Absolutely not! I am pro-choice for all medical procedures and every drug on the market has side-effects, sometimes deadly ones. It should be up to a parent to decide what drugs are given to a child and the shouldn't be denied access to our free public education system.
@8D8RF4F5yrs5Y
Yes, but take into account that some people don't react well to vaccines and make sure they're safe
@8D6LCK95yrs5Y
No, if the vaccine isn't required
@8C52S9B5yrs5Y
Yes, as long as there is no medical reason why they should not.
@9CHN8WH2yrs2Y
No, under zero circumstances
Yes, but I need to know what's inside it.
@9BPJ7KF2yrs2Y
Yes, For non-vaccinated individuals, access to public schools, military facilities, etc, should be restricted. They should have a choice but also understand and accept the consequences.
@99XPFR62yrs2Y
parents should be allowed to decide how many and which vaccines to give
@99G2YPP2yrs2Y
No, we will never know what they will put in our children using those vaccinations, even if they said it might be good (Covid-19 vaccination for example).
@98YDKP82yrs2Y
It depends on the parent or kid if they want to get it
@98XLDLR2yrs2Y
it really doesnt matter if they want to
@98XG7TS2yrs2Y
have them not be required but have them strongly advise them to get the vacine
@986VFPH2yrs2Y
Yes, but only reliables tests that have had extensive and accurate clinical trials over a number of years.
@96TLQPK3yrs3Y
Yes, but only for time-established, fully-vetted vaccinations that are 100% confirmed not to cause "unexpected" conditions later in life leading to health complications or death as has been shown with mRNA "vaccines" recently.
Yes, with exceptions for medical necessity preventing vaccination and recognized religious beliefs.
@8PLG3ZW4yrs4Y
yes but not if it effects there health or lifestyle
@8LZH6VX5yrs5Y
no, the government should provide the choose to choose whether the parent wants that for their child, but if the child is to attend school or large gatherings it should be mandated that they be vaccinated because of the high tranferance of disease in a large gathering
@8DV84MDIndependent5yrs5Y
No, but hold parents accountable for transferring disease as well as hold pharmacies accountable for vaccines made with undisclosed adverse side effects
@895C6VCConstitution5yrs5Y
Yes, but only the vaccines that have been proven after years of trials to have no adverse side effects and that do not cause long term health issues. The most critical vaccinations should be strongly recommended, but not required. This is a parents choice.
