Yes but allow for people to spend time on their education. The service is for the defense of themselves in case something happens.

Mixture of both because sometimes being in the military can turn around peoples actions that go against the law.

 @93DX9H5 from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

I would like 1 Year of public service to be mandated but that could be military service, americorps, or other such organizations

 @8KQXVSX from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

No, everyone should be required to provide 1 year of civil service meaning military, peace corp, or other org that will provide skill and discipline training.

 @8H6MJDD from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

A year of service, yes. But, any service to America, not only military.

Yes, and it should be two years of service if they are able bodied. If not able bodied than it should be two years of service to there ability in non combat duty.

Require one year of service with a variety of choices, including the military and social services. This corps of young people could be deployed to help solve a number of societal issues.

Every 18 year old citizen should be required to take basic military training with only a voluntary commitment to service.
