id say if thats what the state wants then do it but if the state you live in doesnt do it then i dont think it should be required and do whatever

Yes, there should be an ID, but it should only be available to US citizens (whether they are naturalized or born in the US) who are of at least 18 years of age.

We need a better way to identify citizens other than SSN and that should be used for eligibility.

Yes, it makes sense to do so, and there are plenty of other things such as applying for food stamps or welfare which require photo ID. Voting should require the same.
