Yes. But I'm anti-democratic. I don't believe it is the best form of governance. I would prefer monarchy or anarcho-capitalism

 @9SRCKVH from California  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, it'll prevent voter fraud, but if someone for whatever reason doesn't have an ID then one should either be registered to them with a background check or something.

 @9RD3245 from California  answered…11mos11MO

Only add more requirements if there are equally helpful ways to get registered and avoid long lines, and audit the employees.

 @9QS7SP3Independent from California  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, but only if we provide identification cards to those who need them and make the process accessible.

 @9J9G9SP from California  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, if you are voting in person you should verify that it is you casting your vote. I believe that mail in ballets that have been verified when registering and have checked to make sure the signature matches during elections.

 @9F9NJN3 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

I think we should have all voting done by a nonbiased company that would be responsible for voting, doing it all electronically. You would need a Social Security Number and be a U.S. citizen. Have voting be proctored similar to taking a test you should show your ID and your face.

 @966LWT4 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Not really because it will be an overload of information to be given it could be some other form of identification to get rid of the voter fraud.

 @966LSS8 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9622H3B from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, along with a optional federal ID that is free to all citizens and residents

 @94VHMP3 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I would think everyone could and should have a photo ID but I may not be aware of barriers to getting one that done experience

 @94L9DJM from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe a photo ID should not be required to vote but instead allow not only government issued photo ID but also should allow other forms such as their birth certificate or social security number.

 @94KM8X2Peace and Freedom from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @932P9TY from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but you should also make the first time applicants for a photo ID easy and free.

 @8XTVMVHDemocrat from California  answered…4yrs4Y

A form of identification should be used but it doesn't have to be a photo id as long as there is substantial evidence this person is a US citizen and hasn't voted already

 @8W34JWM from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VSSR3KLibertarian from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but obtaining an ID should be made accessible to everyone over the age of 18.

 @8VGYTVN from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TY47QZ from California  answered…4yrs4Y

If voting in person, ID should be required, but allowance made for small errors in spelling. The voter can attest to the correct spelling and/or address changes in writing. But I don't believe any significant voter fraud exists.

 @8TL3NVNIndependent from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but people should be automatically registered to vote upon turning 18, and a free photo ID should come with that registration.

 @8T3XDCH from California  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and automatically register every citizen to vote when they turn 18 as voter ID laws this disadvantage those who do not have the resources to obtain one.

 @8T243Z3 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

No, there's little evidence that voter fraud exists, and every citizen should be automatically registered to vote when they turn 18

 @8SDHSS4 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but make them available if people can't afford one or have no other reason for one

 @8QTFYVF from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QPSXNJ from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but it needs to be easier to obtain one, and people should automatically be registered at age 18.

 @Biblical89American Solidarity from California  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and automatically register every citizen to vote when they turn 18 & have them use their SSN to vote so that it also helps restrain voter fraud.

 @8MNH2NXWomen’s Equality from California  answered…5yrs5Y

if acting awareness is noticed acted out voted on , judges I think majority is over rated ONE WON MATH EQUATION .

 @8MCV4HB from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Why do we pay for ids? If we are required to have them, why are they not free?

 @8M4V4CK from California  answered…5yrs5Y

I think you must legally have an ID to register to vote but not have to present it when voting

 @8M4QVDJ from California  answered…5yrs5Y

I think everyone should have an ID to register, but not have to present it to vote.

 @8CP5PKY from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but information on the ID must be verifiable through federal agencies

 @8CKBYYC from California  answered…5yrs5Y

It would be more beneficial if it was was a finger print instead of a photo ID so that people wouldn't just be able to impersonate you.

 @8CBTM4K from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9BFDJNF from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Maybe it could a a requirement, but with an additional way to check to prevent voter fraud if you don't have a photo ID

 @99YBMMY from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99GK67BWomen’s Equality from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Require photo ID and provide services and assistance in obtaining the ID

 @99BTTRJ from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @997LBK4 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, this will help prevent some voter fraud but other government verifications should be an option as well

 @98KZL6Y from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98K7LYZ from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, however those who do not have the resources necessary to obtain a photo ID must apply for waivers with a strong rationale and evidence as to why they cannot obtain one.

 @97WCYQV from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Some people turn 18 right before voting and it takes a little while for those to get an id when they have never had one before and have never been through the process of getting one.

 @97MBP73 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, this will prevent voter fraud (and make oppurtunities to get a photo ID more acccesable)

 @9738KB7 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Make it easy to obtain an I.D., so that everyone can vote without people whining.

 @96VKTJ6 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93BMML2 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8VRZJM6 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

It is appropriate to require identification, but it should be appropriate to citizens normal use of identification

 @8TVQLTF from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Government should help citizens that are able to vote by providing a photo ID card, with replacements costing money from the citizen if they are lost or stolen

 @8SY5BQ8 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, you have to show ID for tobacco, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, to drive, to fly, and everyone can get or has some type of identification.
