“I believe the theory of evolution is a sound scientific theory. I don't believe it offers complete answers to many of the questions about the origin of species and that there is still a lot we have to learn about it. It is, however, the only sound scientific theory on the subject and should be taught in science classes, and until another sound scientific theory is put forward it should be the only one taught in science classes. Classes on religion should be free to discuss other ideas about the origin of species, and debate on the issues should be encouraged. The same should apply for philosophy classes which could theoretically incorporate other non-religious and non-scientific ideas for student's benefit, debate, and evaluation.”
