The Second Amendment was added to the Constitution in 1791, and at that time, the "arms" available were muskets and flintlock pistols. The Founding Fathers could not have foreseen the development of modern firearms, such as semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. There has to be a line drawn in the sand where "arms" are capable of killing too many people at once, or are you ok with people claiming nuclear weapons are "arms" covered by the Second Amendment?
