I think that people should be documented to enter the US while I also think we should show support for people of other countries and have peace with other countries. I do think the way I would want the border is in a way that Ronald Reagan had it where he restricted the border without terrorizing immigrants as much.

I feel like since they are working and doing their part in the country, they should be allowed to stay and even help get them legalized.

 @9XKNP92 from Kansas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but they must pay taxes, have no criminal record, if they do something illegal they automatically lose the amnesty and have to leave. Most positively contribute to our country / society.

 @9VPCNNR from Kansas  answered…9mos9MO

We need to fine companies that employ illegal immigrants and create a simple path to citizenship for immigrants with no criminal record and make them pay taxes

 @9KS9WHD from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but they must pay taxes and we should create a simple path to citizenship for immigrants with no criminal record.

Yes, if they are able to provide evidence of a steady income and proof of paying taxes.

 @945G4NTRepublican from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, create a simple path to citizenship for immigrants with no criminal record, who have been in the U.S. for 7 years or more, and have worked while paying taxes. Most immigrants such as described have built roots in communities and have families. As long as these families are self-sustaining, upstanding citizens, allow them to be sworn in as American citizens.
I understand some will disagree. I am a bit conflicted myself wondering if there should be some type of consequences for living in the U.S. illegally. On the other hand, they have been living on a sort of self-imposed probation the entire time they've resided in the country. In my opinion, if their background check is clean, especially in a sanctuary city or state, welcome them to America.

Yes, but only if they go through a legal documentation screening process to gain legal citizenship.

 @92D83GYSocialist from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

Add an easy path to citizenship for any illegal immigrant, even criminal.

 @8XWDCTQ from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No. We should make legal immigration easy for law abiding immigrants to come here & only offer emergency amnesty for immigrants fleeing oppression and immediate danger to themselves and their family & then figure out a path to citizenship be it they abide by our laws.

 @8XBT2G8Independent from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, create a simple path to citizenship for immigrants if they pay taxes with no criminal record

 @8V33PNT from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, have them be sent back until they can come back as legal immigrants

If they have been in the U.S. for at least 10 years, no serious misdemeanor or felony convictions, paid taxes (most don't), and have a family connection to the U.S. And they can prove that they add value to the country. Such as agriculture worker, construction worker, business owner. I have seen a lot of illegals that sell drugs for work and add zero value to the country.

No, they must register as an immigrant before they are considered eligible.

 @8M8V43VRepublican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants that aren’t criminals and work

 @8LC27Z5 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KTNG4G from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, during that time, we need to have either a path to citizenship or a path to work visa that they must be engaging in. Many immigrants are here to work because the pay is so much better and they send the money back to their home country.

 @8KNXF8M from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but would prefer to completely open all borders, and would prefer work not be required.

 @8K4372JProgressive from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, create a simple path to citizenship only for immigrants with no criminal record and if they pay taxes and perhaps put them under government watch. We need to make the legal way the easiest way.

 @8JRP3MY from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and the government should not regulate private relationships between employers and employees.

 @8JJCYFY from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

give them the citizenship test and if they do not pass it then deported them

 @8FM7KQ6 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but create legal path where companies sponsor the illegal immigrants and pays a fee for the legal process

Change laws to provide a path to citizenship providing they file for taxes. Meanwhile penalize companies who hire illegals.

 @8SQYSXD from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, give them amnesty only if they start working on the process to obtain a VISA or citizenship immediately.

 @8MX5FV9 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

The entire system needs to be changed to that productive employees are able to work here legally with more ease

 @8LL4C53 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

I think they can stay if they apply for citizenship or a work visa, but if not they should be deported.

 @8KK8MGQConstitution from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

as long as they are paying taxes and force the company employing them to pay for there citizenship

 @8G5T788 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, if they are paying taxes and show they are working on gaining citizenship.

 @8FT489J from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but allow them 1 month to get a visa approved and make them pay taxes, if not approved deport

 @8DJX4ZV from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @89CDM9C from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TWB9FX from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they pay taxes and the government provides a simpler path to citizenship for immigrants with no criminal record
