Illegal immigrants and their children should have access to government-subsidized health care.

Yes, but only if they show they are making their level best attempt to become a citizen through the proper channels

 @9Y382H3Independent from California  answered…9mos9MO

Yes, if there’s an immediate need for it or when in need for yearly check ups until they can gain citizenship

 @9XT9ZVT from New Hampshire  answered…9mos9MO

No, our homeless, veterans, and legal citizens should be taken care of first. They need to do the right process and go through the same process as any citizen.

 @9X9V85W from Oklahoma  answered…9mos9MO

I think the parents and children deserve healthcare if they are not causing any harm and are just here for a better life.

 @9SP3Q6V from Washington D.C.  answered…11mos11MO

Someone has to pay for their health care. If they don't have health insurance, then the hospitals pick up the tab when they are severely ill and cannot afford care. Worst, is when they delay needed care and become severely ill.

 @9SNTF8W from California  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, if they pay taxes they should have full access. Emergencies and infectious disease should be treated regardless of citizenship status.

 @9SL5R33Progressive from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but they should pay taxes and be granted an easy path to citizenship, assuming that they aren’t violent criminals

 @9QRVF6S from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

Yes they should be provided within society. In addition, these should be referred to as undocumented immigrants, not "illegal". This is a question that should be reframed in its wording, otherwise leading to a dehumanizing, xenophobic prime and bias against immigrants for respondents of this quiz.

 @9MZ92CB from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

i believe everyone seeing medical treatment should receive it, if they are illegal get them enrolled to become a legal immigrant for the U.S rather than deport them

 @9M7B24S from Tennessee  answered…1yr1Y

If they are working to be a legal immigrant then yes. If they do not want to work for there healthcare then no.

 @9LNSB23Women’s Equality from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

No, but if they are in life threatening danger and/or their children are in need of healthcare then yes

 @9JN9HVKIndependent from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, if they pay taxes they should have access to all health care but if they do not only life threatening and highly contagious diseases.

 @9HBX2Y9 from Delaware  answered…2yrs2Y

They should receive healthcare rights if it is a life-threatening emergency or if they have an infectious disease, and they should be allowed to purchase private healthcare. Their children should receive healthcare.

 @9F6DC7D from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BMFCXZ from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

 @95KZ9FL from Colorado  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93LPQN2 from New York  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93CJJFJDemocrat from New York  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92J7TC5 from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only under background checks that suggest they did not immigrate with bad intentions.

 @8ZVNSMZ from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

I think they should at least try getting citizenship first, if they don’t try at all, than I don’t think they deserve it, but if they at least tried to become a citizen I say why not.

 @8ZV5NKN from California  answered…3yrs3Y

yes but they must then try for citizenship and their kids should always have it no matter what.

 @8ZNXPZSIndependent from West Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

Immigrants came to the U.S. for better opportunities and safety. We, as a country of immigrants ourselves, should do our best to treat them with respect and make their life easier than what it was they escaped from.

Yes, if they are simultaneously actively working on citizenship, which should be easier accessible to them than it is now. We should be working together, don't deny people but don't encourage people to abuse the system either...but the system should be more for the people than it is now

 @8T452XL from Massachusetts  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SY9KFJ from California  answered…4yrs4Y

I would say yes and no because they are just using the government but yes because they need help as well

 @8SLBVTQ from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and the government should make it less complicated to become a citizen so we don't have to ask this question.

 @8S5PNH6Green from Connecticut  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if illegal immigrants are not treated that risks all people to exposure to illness regardless of their national origin

 @8RPHLQ6 from Alaska  answered…4yrs4Y

I think this question would be irrelevant if we simply adopted a quicker, more friendly program for earning citizenship, especially for those we supposedly protect under the Monroe Doctrine.
