I think that children of illegal immigrants could be granted citizenship if they were born here as it is not their fault for the decisions their parents made, however, I do not believe that the parents should also be granted citizenship. Their citizenship should have been obtained in a legal manner to begin with. If the children of these illegal immigrants begin contributing to criminal activity in our country, I believe deportation is a fair alternative.

 @B5ZJYHRConstitution from Missouri  answered…3mos3MO

No, all illegal immigrants, and even many legal - second and third generation immigrants should be deported

 @9X2GMM6 from Missouri  answered…11mos11MO

if an illegal immigrant gives birth to a child in America the child should go with its mother back to Mexico

 @9WZ7YC8 from Missouri  answered…11mos11MO

if they are born here and only born here, if they aren't then all immigrants should have to go through the legal process of citizenship

 @9WZ5FDV from Missouri  answered…11mos11MO

if they come with there family and there family came to amrica it shouldnt matter if they were or were not born there

 @9TDK3CC from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but there should be a specific process. The child should not be penalized for their parent's decision.

 @9QTMBCB from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

No but they should be allowed to formally apply with no penalties and be given priority if they were born here. Their parents should not be granted citizenship if they came here illegally.

 @9KXX9Z6 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Technically the children would've been born in the U.S. and they cannot control what their parents chose to do. Therefore, they should be granted legal citizenship as long as they become legal within 5 years of turning 18.

 @9K6R4JC from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If their children are born here then both them and their parent should have citizenship, with the parents having dual citizenship

 @9K5WBR8 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If the children were born here, they already have their citizenship. I do think its fair that the immigrants should take the citizenship test just like other new citizens.

 @9JXYSCM from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if their parents can be granted legal citizenship as well. I don't think they should separate the children from their parent(s).

 @9JSCF3R  from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if they've spent the majority of their life here they should not risk deportation from the only home they've ever known.

 @9JNY42Y from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I think the mothers and fathers should have choice if they would like to keep there child in the United States, but have to leave.

 @9JNXDRQ from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If the parents are illegal but the child is burn in the U.S the child should be granted citizenship.

 @9JJWZVM from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and their parents should also be given legal citizenship so that the family can stick together. Their parents would have to apply, of course, but their child would be granted full citizenship and they would remain in America until the application process is completed.

 @9JF73HS from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but both them and their parents should be granted citizenship after passing things like background checks.

 @9JD8J4KRepublican from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

They can stay in the US with their kid being a citizen but they still have to apply an not be deported.

 @9J6MWJ3 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but if they have been in the United States for more than 10 years, they can file for legal citizenship.

 @9HVJY5S from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

i feel that it may be permitted with reduced liberties and once of age will be revoked and must apply for legal government admitted citizenship

 @9HMKR4P from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I think they should, if their parent has gone through all the legal requirments to become a citizen themselves. If they have not, I feel the child should have to comlpete those steps

 @9HL6MXP from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If they were born in the United States then yes depending on how long their parents have been in the United States.

 @9HGM4R8 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if the parents are deported after the children become old enough to apply for citizenship.

 @9HCNHTQ from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, they should have to have lived here for at least 5 years and pass citizenship tests and swear oaths.

 @9GJ7P5S  from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and have the parents apply for legal citizenship if they have good intentions for being here. I do not wish to separate families over this.

 @9G7QJLR from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

The question does not state whether or not if the child was born in the us or not. If the child was born in the us then it is there right to be a citizen and if they are not old enough to stay by the time the family is deported then they should go with their family, but if the child is old enough they can stay or go as they please.

 @9FQY3BY from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I don’t feel any of the choices capture my thoughts accurately. I also feel like there are many unique facets to different situations , and selecting any of these choices is too black and white.

 @9FMYGN8 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Its not the kids foult i think the kid should be greantedlegal citizenship.

 @9FMSV2BProgressive from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes if they were born here but that shouldn't automatically give parents citizenship, just the baby. They're grown adults they can take a test.

 @9FM9KR9 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

After they earn their citizenship then I suppose yes but being born here if they're illegal immigrant parents got here then no. They should have to go through the process .

 @9FM2BND from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FM25PR from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I think they should have equal oppurtunities to become a US citizen however that may be.

 @9FLHLVC from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9FLHKGF from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel if children illegal immigrants be granted legal citizenship, the parents should too.

 @9FKYYG8 from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be given citizenship until they reach the age of 18, then they are required to take the citizenship test.

 @9FBRXDR from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if they were born here, and Yes, but it should not gran their parents citizenship.

 @9FBQ3YF from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe to an extent that the child should be given the chance to have citizenship, not the parents.

 @9F9MDYV from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If they are born in the U.S. then sure if not be in the military for 4 years.

 @9F99B7S from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Citizenship must be attained either by being born to citizen(s) of this country, spending time working in this country, or by passing the standardized citizenship test that's already in place.

 @9F92N8G from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

If born within US borders, yes. If immigrated, then no, go through the legal process

 @9F4B2VJ from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

No, this incentives illegal immigration. There should be an expedited path to citizenship for those who are born here to illegal immigrants, however, as children shouldn’t be punished for something they have no control over.

 @8ZCZS2NIndependent from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, and their parents should be granted legal citizenship as long as they have not committed any illegal crimes and they have the means to pay taxes.

 @9BX3L9N from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

 @95YKKBX from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

I think that immigrants should be allowed to become legal citizens of the united states but they have to do it the proper way,

 @93F5256 from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92HPKR3 from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

 @922Y2WJ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but only if they have lived here for AT LEAST 10 years or served in the military

 @8YX7MGJ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

They should be allowed to stay in the U.S. under a visa and required to pass the Nationalization test when 18

 @8XZCPLL from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

no becuse if the babies parents get deported then the baby is left in the us with nowhere to go

 @8WXBQL8 from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

This is very dependant on their previous situation. If their previous situation was cruel, Yes.

 @8WM4G8G from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes if they were born here, but it should not grant the parents citizenship.

 @8WJ65YJ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

They should be regarded as U.S. citizens until they're 18 years of age, then they've got to take the citizenship test.

 @8WJ2B72 from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

They should be deported with their parents but should be given a quicker way to gain citizenship when they turn 18.

 @8WCDFCD from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Only if the child was born here. other than that they should be deported together so that they are not seperated

 @8KS3DHWRepublican from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but if their parents are not legal citizens they have to stay with them until their parents are legal

 @8KM7M9MRepublican from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KB28D6 from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

No; persons who are sovereign to other nations are just that. The government doesn't get to choose who is an illegal alien and who is a "real" illegal alien.

 @8JXML4W from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, although children could be separated from their parents, they have most likely come for a better life and that provides that opportunity for them

 @8H9SM3X from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but their parents must apply for citizenship and this must be completed before the children are recognized as full citizens.

 @8G68YVF from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes if born here and have the parents take the courses to become a citizen.

 @8FYJSXG from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CGXHLBDemocrat from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, only if they were born here and if it does not grant their parents citizenship.

 @9C8KQPCRepublican from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes because they were born here, however their parents should be deported. Their parents can then choose to take the child back with them to their country, or they can put the child in the foster system and can have a chance at getting them back if they apply to be a citizen and come back to the USA legally.

 @9BYV7LD from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

 @998263T from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

It depends on how young they are, If they are young enough to learn about our country and know our history as they grow up then yes, but if they are like almost 18 then no.

 @95SLGBK from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, if they were born here. Those brought here as children should be given a path to citizenship.

 @8Y6GTGY from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8XCXY7N from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

i think if they are minors then yes, they should have citizenship as it was likely out of their control to move to the usa without citizen ship.

 @8VRZZFSIndependent from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if they were born here, but parents should be made to obtain citizenship or face deportation.

 @8VN2PKZ from Missouri  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8FYHGYF from Missouri  answered…5yrs5Y

Only children born to citizens should be granted citizenship. (Or children whose parents gain citizenship before age 3 (or some other suitable age to be determined by the populous or Congress in an amendment)
