The organization’s objectives include promoting peace and security, protecting human rights, the environment and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict. Recent U.N. interventions include the Sri Lankan civil war in 2009 and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The U.S. joined the U.N. as a founding member in 1945. The U.S. is the largest financial contributor to the UN and contributes more than $11.5 billion or 25% of its total budget annually.

Yes, good movement on bringing countries together and compromises, however all countries are their own and UN should not tell you these are laws or rules you have to follow.

Yes, but push for reforms so that authoritarian nations like China and Cuba have less influence over certain issues (i.e. Kicking Cuba and China off of the Human Rights Council)
