The Affordable Care Act is a federal statute signed into law in 2010 that introduces a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s healthcare system. The act grants the federal government significant regulatory powers and price controls over U.S. medical service providers and insurance companies. The Act’s landmark provisions included an insurance mandate which prohibited insurers from denying coverage to individuals due to preexisting conditions and insurance requirements for individual children who did not have coverage via their families. The Act also required states to set up and main…

You're right, and I apologize for not addressing your concerns more directly. While I do recognize the benefits of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in expanding healthcare access and providing protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions, I also understand your frustration with the affordability of plans. For many people, the premiums and deductibles remain unaffordable, even with subsidies. The intention of the ACA was to make healthcare accessible, but in practice, it often falls short, especially for individuals and families who don’t qualif… Read more

I don't think its relevant for national government to get involved just let state and local governments worry about their own situation.
If we're paying for healthcare for 90% of healthcare cases (65+ and low income (usually blue collar) people), then why are we abusing the people that use the system the least?
@9ST8C8J10mos10MO
No, we would be cheaper under a universal healthcare system instead of the universal insurance system that was created.
@9HXZJMK1yr1Y
We should bring down medical cost across the board beyond improving medical coverages from insurances
@9HQGQVZ2yrs2Y
People should access to affordable healthcare. Ombama Care (aka affordable care act) was not the solution.
@9GVXSRWRepublican2yrs2Y
I think the intentions are good, but people take advantage of it and that is not right, which can create a failure for the program.
@9FWLLV32yrs2Y
No, I support expanding Medicaid, bans on lifetime caps, and prohibiting insurers from denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions, but otherwise the plan is too complicated and ineffective.
@9FQ6VD62yrs2Y
No, stop adding more layers of bureaucracy to the health care system.
@9F9VBL22yrs2Y
I don't really care about it so much
@9DCVV822yrs2Y
I support a temporary care program but not one that can be used for life
@8XT4H2GIndependent4yrs4Y
No, implement Universal Health Care for the elderly and economically insecure instead
@98ZBJWT2yrs2Y
Like most large bills there are some good things and some bad things within this act that politicians did not take the time to line item vote on.
@96HHNXH3yrs3Y
I dont interest me In any way
@95NVYY43yrs3Y
Don’t know what this is enough
@95GH25Q3yrs3Y
single payer system is what should be used
@92SBDRV3yrs3Y
no, healthcare for all citizens and residents should be completely free.
@92FL6KB3yrs3Y
No, government involved in heath reduces innovation and quality of health care, does not give competitive prices (prices are driven up instead), and raises everyone's taxes.
@8ZLW8F33yrs3Y
Universal healthcare should be something we strive for in this country.
@8ZBNQSJ3yrs3Y
@8YNMHRV3yrs3Y
Healthcare should be free just not obama care
@8XL5DV44yrs4Y
I do not find the Affordable Care Act affordable. My husband and I still cannot afford insurance. We thought it would make insurance more affordable but it did not. Also I don't believe people should be penalized for not having insurance as they are under the Affordable Care Act.
@8W5RSDL4yrs4Y
I feel as though the government should have the power to step in if necessary but should not oversee every aspect. They would only step in if the insurance company was corrupted and needed correction.
@8TG373B4yrs4Y
No, I support state-level healthcare funding and also try to reduce our really unhealthy population.
@8TDM5684yrs4Y
@8S6TSZPRepublican4yrs4Y
i think it has some good ideas but is gone about wrong
No, because it mostly serves as a subsidy to insurance companies.
@8PQHGY95yrs5Y
I really do not know what to say about this matter
@8PBXHBC5yrs5Y
no you shouldn't make a hard working person pay for a lazy *** bum
@8N4CHQCRepublican5yrs5Y
i don't have a opinion on that
@8MXHCMZ5yrs5Y
health care should be completely free
@8KKLJ4YProgressive5yrs5Y
Obamacare takes a toll on my family. We are a house of six, so our medical expenses are quite high. On top of it, we have to pay Obamacare but we cannot use it...
@8KHGNRGLibertarian5yrs5Y
Patient protection yes Obamacare no
@8KFVYJH5yrs5Y
i dont really care honestly
@8JC8XCF5yrs5Y
I support universal healthcare, but not as long as insurance companies profit from it like with ACA.
@8J8C49P5yrs5Y
I support government healthcare, but Obamacare is not the way to go
@996FLRCRepublican2yrs2Y
No, it actually made my brother who has a Schizophrenia and autism loose a lot of his medication.
@99432DT2yrs2Y
Individuals who remain uninsured should not be fined for not having healthcare insurance
@98M6HJ2Libertarian2yrs2Y
No, but the health industry needs to be regulated to lower costs and punish insurers for not following doctors' orders.
@97JDT2T3yrs3Y
No, it comes back into our taxes, there's no difference
@972Y9V6Libertarian3yrs3Y
health insurance should be abolished
@962NV893yrs3Y
Not really but I see how it could be helpful
@8THFDJ24yrs4Y
No, but a new system should be created that covers more people.
@8S9NM4PIndependent4yrs4Y
Either healthcare should be fully private or fully public, and somehow Obamacare took the worst of both worlds.
@8JC8WSQ5yrs5Y
I support universal healthcare, but not as long as insurance companies profit from it like with ACA.
@8KFTCL85yrs5Y
I would, if I was going to be affected by it. It really should just extend to those who really need it, and if any don't just withdraw it from them. Reforms might be necessary but unless an alternative is introduced to help those who rely on Obamacare should Obamacare be repealed, then I see no strong incentive to repeal Obamacare.
