Yes if they do the EXACT same thing, but if one has better qualities then the other then they should be paid more

 @B2JDM97No Labels from Iowa  answered…5mos5MO

No. Base pay should be the same, but pay goes up with skill and ability on the job itself, increasing with the quality of the work.

 @9XHPQJT from Iowa  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, because if not aren't they just discrimating towards women if we're doing the same job as a man I'd want the same pay

 @9SNY538  from Iowa  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, if they have the same education, experience, and tenure. Gender should not make anything different & pay should be published for each position

 @9X4YLSJ from Iowa  answered…8mos8MO

yes, if they are working in the same job and doing the same things. obviously if the women is not doing the same workload as the man; then she should not get paid as much as him

 @9WTNL5KJustice party member from Iowa  answered…8mos8MO

If both candidates have the same qualifications and skill, they should be paid the same, regardless of non-inhibiting factors.

 @9V3VPLM from Iowa  answered…9mos9MO

It depends on how well each person does their job - regardless of whether or not they are male or demale.

 @9SCMN2DAmerican Solidarity from Iowa  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, all factors being equal then a man and a woman working the same job should receive the same pay.

 @9MBS6RGSocialist  from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, as often times women who have the same qualifications, experience and tenure tend to be paid less for doing the same amount of work.

 @9MB3HCX from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

Depends who work the most and working the hardest jobs and if the men work more than women then pay the men more but if the women work more than the man, then the women will get pay more than the men.

 @9JM9GHG from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

No, the employer should decide what to pay their employees depending on how hard they work, or how much work they do.

 @9JGDPVL from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

If a man and a woman do the same work and have the same qualifications they should be payed the same, but not if they don't.

 @9J8V6YP from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

Depending on how they work and do their jobs, they should be payed somewhat the same, but again, depending on how well they work.

 @9HTTTHC from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

this only comes to which malle or female is working as hard as they can but really they're only using 60% of their power

 @9HLCPCJ from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but it depends on what task it is and the skill level of the person and also you should be able to pay men less as well if their task is easier

 @9HCRD69Peace and Freedom from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

depending on how much a certain person does for the same job is how much they should get paid in a certain job

 @9H84VJF from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

No, depending on the level of degree earned it can impact the pay for a similar job so it should be based on you usefulness in the job

 @9H7QDQN from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on the workload of each individual, if the male does more work then the female, has more qualification, does a better job, and works constantly then the male should get payed substantially more, and vice versa. Not every women or man have the same qualifications or work ethics, so when it comes to them majority of men being payed more than the majority of women, its because those of the male gender choose jobs that are highly needed that no one else wants to do, therefore bringing in more money due to there higher value in that field, or just bringing in more money to begin with. It just so happens that men are also more competitive and therefore progress faster on average than a female coworker, but this is not the same in all cases.

 @9FTSFGKRepublican from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel depending on the job yes, if it is more hard work and labor a man can typically get more done, meanwhile, there is always a couple of woman who are the exception that can do that, but it should be based on the amount of work being put in.

no you should be paid by your work. if a guy is working a 9-5 and does better work than his female co-worker then he should be paid more

 @9DJTRGF from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

It should be equal but females think since they are girls they don't have to do as much or sometimes nothing and still get paid. While men do all the work.

 @9BW2KRLRepublican from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BLDFG2 from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only if said man and said woman have the same achievements, experience, and education level along with other qualifications.

 @99Y7YH8 from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

No, because there are many other factors that influence pay than just gender.

 @99XMTBX from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

pay should be determined based on the qualifications of the candidates, regardless of gender

 @96CDWY3Republican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and no. What is the male just does a better job at doing it then the female, your gonna want to pay the one with the better job.

 @95RQM2X from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94L467LPeace and Freedom from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes if they are equally working as hard they should be able to be payed the same

 @94KZRKP from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Depends on hours and work ethic, If those are the same for both genders than I believe the pay should be the same.

 @94JFZHP from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94GJ3PP from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94GJ2DB from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

i think it should stay as is because men often do more dangerous jobs that women typically do not want

 @94FBQK2Republican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

No people should be paid for their own work not the same based on the work of one person

 @94F8NYG from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Should not matter whether you are a man or woman, they should get paid on work ethic/experience.

 @93FQ3Z7Independent from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92QRWYBPeace and Freedom from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

depending on how long the person has worked and the hours they put in should determine pay but if both work expeirences are equal then both man and women should recieve the same pay

 @92NGSVX from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Employers should pay their workers by their skills, not by their sex/gender.

 @92L5QHQ from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

It doesn't matter on gender, if one person works harder than the other they should be paid more.

 @928NSY3 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZZMG5CDemocrat from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if both have the same amount of education, experience, and tenure.

 @8ZZ9JJ2 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Employers should pay depending on the work done by the employee, not by employees working the same job.

 @8ZJFJHP from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZD2XVD from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Depends on what the job is. If a woman wants to go into construction she should be paid the same as the men because the job is dangerous

 @8Z7W2V8 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

In general, yes. It depends on the experience one has at the job and how well they preform.

 @8XJQS3P from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8X37W9L from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

This shouldn't even be a question because it should already be happening.

 @8WW4SXM from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

men and women should be paid by how hard they work, what they do, and what benefits they get. but a women shouldn't get paid differently just because she is a woman.

 @8W4ZD8SWomen’s Equality from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe businesses can decide who is doing more work, to benefit in more pay

 @8VTQM34 from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SQVJ3BDemocrat from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but if one has more education or experience, they should receive higher pay

 @8RZ8ZSH from Iowa  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PYTYFT from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, if the man and woman are exactly the same. Same work hours/overtime, same education, same work years, same experience, same productivity output.

 @8PHRKTM from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NVDV9Y from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

I believe that gender shouldn't be a factor in determining wage, but I understand it can vary based on their experience, education, etc., but there should be emphasis on the idea that this gap is NOT based on gender and that gender isn't a factor in determining one's salary.

 @8MTBKVW from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8M7V86LRepublican from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LH39BX from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

Depends on the job really, some things men are just genetically better at.

 @8LDQHTYWomen’s Equality from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

It depends on the work both parties are giving, if the man/women is working harder and doing a better job they should be payed more.

 @8KW2G8F from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

No, it should be based on what hard work that employee does not the gender.

 @8K6ZRPR from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JYB7ZC from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

As long as they are working the same job and doing the same amount of work.

 @8HLW9T4 from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8HCJDPG from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

They should start off with the same salary and whoever does a better job should make more.

 @8GGMJGT from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

Salaries should be determined on character and ability not gender, age, race, or other demographics.

 @8F976Z6 from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8D49TTL from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

If a man can do the same job better he should be pid more. If a woman can do the same job better she should get paid more.

 @9CXXZXR from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

If the question can be interpreted as written, yes; but there may be other factors such as education, experience, and tenure to determine a fair salary.

 @9BG3RJQ from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, for the same job and the same hours, they should make the same only exceptions are who worked more, and who actually put working hours in.

 @9B6KXFFConstitution from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98V9ZYY from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

 @983XZJM from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

If the woman is doing the work just as good as a man then she deserves equal pay.

 @983SPBJ from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

do the same amount of work and you will get paid the same, it shouldn't be based on gender

 @982GTJ4 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but only if employer feels the workers have the same drive and work ethic.

 @97YDZPWRepublican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel employers should pay workers based on their work ethic and how they perform their job. Sure, I feel that the starting wage for each worker should be the same despite their gender, but I feel it is depending on the person.

 @97PQQFFRepublican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but not the same salary because someone might work extra hours and it wouldn’t be fair if they put more time in and everyone just got the same salary.

 @97NGRM3 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, as long as they're doing the same work and as good of work as eachother

 @97NFWH7 from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

you should be paid on your ability to do your job, if you can do it better than another, then you should be paid more

 @97GHNYTWomen’s Equality from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

 @974MVHM from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

No, because you should get more money depending on how well you work not just because you are a male or female because it would not be fair to the man/woman who works there but off 2 times harder than someone else and then another person getting paid the same amount.

 @96YNL8Y from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, as long as they can prove that they were both working equally as hard and equally as much.
