The entire idea of arming teachers against school shooters directly implies that the government accepts school shootings as such a common occurrence that they need to be treated as an aspect of daily life rather than an institutional problem created by an inherently flawed governmental and educational system. Also what is to stop that teacher from becoming the next school shooter?

I don’t think it’s safe for teachers to carry firearms at the school, they may lose control of their emotions or a kid may sneak and find it and it could end up really bad.

Teachers are around kids again throughout the day, meaning it could be extremely dangerous having any firearms on school grounds for anyone in general

if we had gun regulations and health checks on people who bought them then we wouldnt have to hen we wouldnt have to have our taechers be armed, yesyesthe idea is good in the world today but this shouldnt have to be a qustion thats why instead of tachers having gun ss which would in tramIZE SOEM KIDS HAVE SECURTITY GAURDS instead

Even with extensive training it wouldn't necessarily make all students feel safe in a classroom, it may even make them feel more unsafe/anxious. It is an unnecessary precaution that can go in the wrong direction quickly from giving them another set of power they don't need to have.

If a certain teacher was allowed to have a firearm then one day had a mental breakdown, they would be able to use it against kids inside their classrooms and in the school.

A unstable teacher can go off rails or feel overwhelmed and take that overwhelming emotions to a sense that could lead to lashing out.

I think that if teachers go through the entensive training to carry a firearm in school they should be able to.

Even with extensive training there are flaws I don't think we should have any kind of weapons around children and instead there should be security measures to prevent weapons in schools.

As a student, guns on campus and in the classroom would make me greatly uncomfortable. Instead of promoting guns on school property, do something to combat gun violence on school grounds and in general so maybe one day students don't have to fear the possibility of a school shooting. Solving gun violence with more guns makes absolutely no sense. Not to mention the possibility of these weapons getting into student hands?

If certain teachers go through extensive training to carry a firearm, they would be able to act quickly to neutralize threats in a school or protect kids inside their classroom.

Adding guns into schools only adds onto the risk of having children getting ahold of them and harming themselves or others. No matter how locked they are, they could get to them.
