What is your stance on abortion?
Pro-life, but allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child
Besides that, although many options to prevent pregnancy are available in the modern world, these methods are not always easily acquired. This can be because of pricing, or other walls that result from our flawed, expensive healthcare system. I have heard the argument that people who cannot afford contraceptives should become abstinent, and I think that statement fails to consider the sociological perspective on sex. In many cultures around America, sex is very much an expectation at increasingly younger ages, and additionally, it is seen as admirable and masculine to not use protection. These expectations can cause irrational behavior that can alter both men and women's lives in a negative way. It is perfectly fine to not support abortion, but to try to take it away from others causes just as much harm as if it was ending human lives. By taking away the option from people who need it, not only does it ruin lives, but it has the potential to end them too. I'm not negligent of what you said about if the mother is at extreme risk, but you must realize that the way things are heading, that exception will be taken away too. The controversy over abortion ultimately further dehumanizes women, seen in stories like this one: https://apnews.com/article/pregnant-woman-brain-dead-georgia-baby-delivered-1dbc32dc986926a8cf65780a3e738dac where a mother was kept in a brain-dead state in order to deliver a baby.
