It’s wild how the system keeps putting both correctional officers and incarcerated folks in harm’s way instead of actually investing in real reform. Maybe if we stopped overcrowding prisons and focused on rehabilitation over punishment, we wouldn’t be in this mess. The state needs to step up and protect workers, but also rethink the whole system while they're at it.
