The establishment keeps playing it safe, but progressives are right to push for real change instead of just maintaining the status quo. If Democrats want to stop Trump and the far right, they need to energize voters with bold policies, not watered-down compromises. Schumer working with Republicans to avoid a shutdown might seem pragmatic, but at some point, Democrats have to stop conceding ground. The “liberal Tea Party” comparison is misleading because progressives are fighting for policies that actually help working people, not just obstructing for the sake of it. If the party doesn’t evolve, it risks losing young and disillusioned voters to apathy or third parties. The leadership needs to wake up and realize that the future of the party is with the progressive wing.
