I get that enforcing immigration laws is important, but ramping up deportations like this feels like it could lead to unnecessary crackdowns on people who aren’t real threats. At the same time, we can’t just ignore illegal immigration either, so some level of enforcement is necessary. I just hope this new ICE chief focuses on targeting criminals rather than breaking up families or going after people who have been here for years without issues. There’s got to be a middle ground between open borders and mass deportations.
