The REAL story is that a congressman allegedly instructed someone to lie to police. That's witness tampering - a separate crime entirely from the assault allegation.

Context matters: False DV allegations occur in 2-8% of cases according to research. Recanted allegations ≠ false allegations (45-62% of actual victims recant).
