Honest question, why does this matter?

He can't sentence him to jail with only 12 days until he becomes president, and can't trump just pardon himself for anything?

He is a convicted felon, he just hasn’t been sentenced.

Actually that's one of the unique issues here. Does Presidential immunity apply during the "transition" period. Can a President Trump be sentenced serve the 12 days and then be released.? Another point, Bragg is relying on Federal Law. The Supreme Court is the final arbiter of Federal Law.
