If the votes are there, they should be counted—plain and simple. Recounts are a normal part of elections, especially when the race is close, and there’s no reason to block them unless you’re scared of the outcome. It’s frustrating to see yet another attempt to delay and drag out the process when Michigan voters deserve transparency and fair results. At the end of the day, democracy should be about making sure every vote is counted, not protecting a political agenda. Let the recount happen and let the chips fall where they may.
