Here we go again with more Russian interference trying to mess with our democracy. It’s so frustrating that people still fall for these fake videos and conspiracy theories. We need stronger efforts to fight disinformation and hold social media platforms accountable for letting this stuff spread. If we don’t take this seriously, it’s only going to get worse for future elections.

Instead of blaming foreign actors, maybe we should focus on fixing the massive inefficiencies and lack of transparency in our own election system. It’s not Russia making people lose faith in government—it’s the government itself.

Both Moldova and Georgia also have a Russian military presence. In Moldova this is in the breakaway region of Transnistria, where there is a “peacekeeping force” of about 2,000 troops. Georgia has two pro-Russia breakaways making up 20% of the total land area of the country, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office said on Thursday that there was "targeted disinformation" circulating online related to the U.S. elections that was likely a result of "foreign interference attempting to sow discord and chaos.
