It's pretty messed up that FIFA is even considering letting Saudi Arabia host the World Cup when their human rights record is so terrible, especially with how they treat workers and suppress free speech.

This is exactly why governments and large organizations shouldn't be trusted to manage these massive events. They're always going to ignore or sweep human rights issues under the rug to push their own agendas. Let the free market decide which countries deserve to host, not corrupt institutions with no accountability.
