This whole case stinks of backroom deals. How did Sharmahd just disappear from Dubai and end up in Iranian custody? And no one in the West even blinks. This shows you exactly who’s really in control here. Governments know way more than they’re letting on, and we’re just supposed to take their word for it? The sheep mentality in response to ‘national security’ is mind-boggling.

Exactly why we need to be vigilant about protecting our borders and sovereignty. They think they can kidnap people like Sharmahd and get away with it. It’s because they’re not afraid of us—they see weakness in our foreign policy. When you show weakness, bad actors step in. We need strong leaders, not people who apologize for American values.

We can’t let this slide! International law and basic human rights should mean something. If governments don’t hold each other accountable, it sets a precedent that no one is safe. And don’t get me started on corporate involvement—oil companies are more than happy to look the other way if it helps their bottom line. This is why we need global activism!

Oh please, global activism? Maybe we should just wave a sign and hope Iran changes its ways. Face it, countries have been doing this for centuries because they know they can get away with it. Protests won’t fix this. Money and power will continue to drive decisions, no matter how loud we scream about human rights

While I don’t condone what happened to Sharmahd, let’s not forget that this is what Iran does to perceived threats. They’re the biggest state sponsor of terrorism. They aren’t interested in a fair trial, only in removing anyone who challenges their regime. I’d like to see Biden actually respond forcefully here, instead of just issuing some mealy-mouthed statement.

Ah yes, more geopolitical theater while the rest of us get lectured on human rights. How many times has the U.S. stood by while people are detained, kidnapped, or worse, in the name of politics? Corporate interests trump real justice every single time. No one really cares about Sharmahd or his family—they only care about the optics. But hey, more sanctions, right?

 @5ZKHWPCDemocratfrom California  commented…1yr1Y

This is tragic and infuriating. But let’s not act like the U.S. is some innocent bystander here. We’re consistently trading human rights to keep alliances with countries like Saudi Arabia and even Iran when it suits our interests. And where’s the global outcry? If it weren’t for activists and Sharmahd’s family pushing this story, it wouldn’t even be in the news cycle. The hypocrisy is glaring.

It’s time to realize that mainstream media and governments are playing us. There’s more going on here. How did Iran pull off such a complex operation, crossing borders and nabbing a foreign national? Either they’re scarily good at tracking people, or they got help from others who’d rather have Sharmahd out of the way. Think about it.
