People are frustrated with the inefficiency of these bureaucracies, and while I’m not condoning violence, it’s not surprising some folks are fed up. If disaster relief was handled by private companies competing in a free market, we wouldn’t be dealing with these bloated, slow responses and the tensions that come with it. People would actually get the help they need, when they need it, without all the political nonsense. When the government monopolizes disaster aid, it’s inevitable that people lose patience. Let the market handle it, and we’d all be better off.
